I love her
she loves me
between us
we have a child
but we’re never together.
I do time
behind bars
talk to her through letters.
Raise my child through visits
it seems like forever
is the next time
I’ll see my daughter again.
All I can say
is don’t be a child with grown up problems.
Then
it’s back to the cell
back to the hell
back against the wall
please, please, pick up your cell.
This phone call is like fresh air.
Living conditions are death here.
So commissary is so necessary.
Don’t tell me your next visit
is never-wary.
Cause I’m always hurried.
Did u hear the beep?
Just the thought
next time it clicks
makes me sick.
I’m fighting for my life
the judge on vacation
this lawyer could careless
my case in litigation.
What does freedom cost?
