Zavier’s P.O.V
I stifled my laughter at the boys going back and forth. It’s a shame Keisha let them go out there blind, but still a bruise on Ray’s forehead is better than revealing her true intent on this so called “paradise”. “Dang Ray, you got knocked out by a girl” Roc giggled as he handed Ray an icepack, Ray pushed his shoulder and snatched it out of his hand “shut up, she got lucky and I didn’t see her coming, I didn’t even do anything!” Roc made a face as if he were thinking hard “maybe they’re on their periods?” That’s when my co-worker/friend Lauren jumped out of her seat “excuse me!? Don’t ever use a girl’s period as a reason for your stupidity. Whatever you guys did you have to fix it.” Roc jumped at her voice and I silently laughed to myself, but was rudely interrupted by disgust and rage as Roc came over to wrap his arm around my shoulder. “Make sure to make the dome more like home for them? Like a mall or something; girls like that stuff, thanks buddy” buddy! Who does he think he is, I waited for his footsteps to disappear behind me followed by a sliding of a door before I started venting.
“Buddy…buddy…buddy, Lauren!” I started “I heard him, I don’t understand why you hate him so much” “Then you’ll never understand, I didn’t exactly sign up for this program either, and as long as it exists so will my hate for him.” “And after that?” she said raising an eyebrow at me. I acted like I was thinking for a minute “nope, I’d still hate him; he put both of us in here and them!” pointing at the monitors with all the girls cells...I mean rooms. “Look hating him won’t save them or us, and even thinking about putting up a fight with her is just a death sentence, don’t you remember the others-“ I stopped her before she could bring up the memories of what happened to the last “winners” I sat back down at my chair focusing on one monitor the girl was crying on her cold bed. I took Roc’s words into consideration for this next dome, but I wasn’t doing it for Roc; I wanted to do it for her.
