I met Chris 3 years ago and it was love at first sight, well that's what I thought. The abuse didn't start until last year and I don't even understand why it happened.

I remember being able to talk about our future. Marriage, starting a family and being very successful, but with the abusive side of him I don't want any of that, I want him to go back to how he used to be. He claims that he is getting help but I don't believe that for one second.

"Hey babe I'm going to grab some food, want anything?" I asked as I grabbed my purse.

"Yeah just get me whatever you end up getting." He said.

"Hi, can I get two steak bowls with extra steak."

"Sure thing." The employee smiled.

"Damn girl you like you're meat don't you?" This guy questioned.

"What can I say I like steak."

"Miles." He smiled.

"Myah. Nice to meet you Miles."

I finished telling the lady what I wanted in the bowls and then payed for my food.

"Eating for two?" He questioned.

"Um no, just hungry." I said as I grabbed the bag.

"Hey maybe we could get to know each other a little better?" Miles asked.

I wanted to say yes but Chris would kill me if he found a guy's number.

"Miles-"

"Just as friends Myah." He smiled.

"Okay sure, I'll give you my number."

After exchanging numbers, I headed home. I didn't know what to think or do really. Knowing how Chris can be, just makes things way more complicated then it needs to be.

"Damn it took you long enough." Chris chuckled as I walked into the front room.

"Sorry the line was long, I got you a steak bowl." I said.

"Thanks babe." He said as began eating.

"No problem."
