"Hazel," the sound of Augustus's voice sent shivers down my spine. He tussled my hair and kissed me on the forehead. "I missed you so much baby" he whispered. He pulled me closer to him and pulled the perfectly white covers over my body. I was completely surrounded by his warmth. "I missed you to Gus" I smiled and pressed my face into his bare chest. He smelled like fresh spring air and lavenders. His heat warmed my entire body. I woke up with my face pressed against my pillow. It has been a year since augustus died and this has been going on for a month. I walked over to the dresser where my old oxygen tank sat gathering dust. A month after Gus died, I got lung surgery and I've been cancer free ever since. I pulled open the top drawer where I kept the last letter he wrote. It was way more crumpled and tear stained than it was a year ago. I sighed and pulled out my phone. Ever since I was cured I've started going to a regular highschool. I only had two friends Anna and Elina . Elina was way into acting and Anna dances 24/7. They understand how I feel and they are the only ones who really get me. It was three in the morning. Anna had a dance competition in the morning so I called Elina. "Hi hazel" Elina said groggily. "I had that dream aigain. I can't sleep". "Hazel, can we do this in the morning?" "Fine." I said. I hung up. I definitely wasn't going back to sleep so I crept into the kitchen and made my self a cup of hot tea.
