She's Back

*Wait: Part 2*

I make eye contact with him for a brief second in the now silent cafeteria as we have gathered quite the audience. I quickly turn on my heals and make it out before he can say anything else

"Rory!" I hear him call behind me. No. I refuse to get dragged into his games again, I refuse to be drugged just by the mention of him. I loved him and he dropped me like I was yesterday's paper.

I manage to make it to the girls bathroom and I look at myself in the mirror as see tears coming out my eyes. I whip out my bag and take out some makeup wipes, removing and redoing my mascara and concealer which is really the only make up I need.

I smile at myself in the mirror, now looking more presentable "suck it up sweetheart" I mutter to myself hearing the bell and watching to my next period.

I have maths now and I seriously cannot be bothered for it. I sit in a seat fairly close too the back and much to my dismay the seats are in pairs so I'll be put with someone. Great.

As the teachers and other students walk in the teacher starts clapping and saying "back if the class room everyone" so I slide out of my desk and walk to the corner.

"Okay seating plan. We are having a new one and you're sticking to it this time." She says looking at the other side of the room, probably throwing shade in her weird teacher way.

"But it's the middle of the semester Miss, why now?" Someone groans.

"New student! New start!" She replays smiling at me.

"Okay May, sweetie, I'm going to put you next to Annalisa at the back" she says making my eyes wander over to the other corner and that's when I see it. I see everyone. I almost audibly groan but I don't, so much for avoiding them. This makes them smile and they enter the desk positioned in front of where I'm standing, flashing a grin at me on the way.

"Noah and Lucas, the desk next to them. Jayden, you can also be at the back alone because do I trust you?" The teacher asks

"Does anybody miss?" He says being fake hurt and I understand this teacher is pretty cool.

"Now, Mr Calavar, who to put you with?" She asks rhetorically

"How about Rory? Yes! Go sit I don't of Annalisa and May-Belle" she smiles

Ugh no I think which apparently came out audibly. "Do you have a problem Miss Greene?" She asks

"I mean no offence or anything Miss Jones-" I start

"Mrs, Jones." She corrects me

"Yeah whatever, I can absolutely not sit next to that." I protest.

"Okay, Jayden take your feet off that chair Aurora is sitting there" she says

"God no need to do that, what do you want to do? Torture me? I'll sit which Zephyr." I sigh putting my bag down in the seat next to the wall and ignoring him by looking out the window.

The teacher starts talking about some random crap which I really couldn't care less about honestly and then she sets us to do a task. I watch the rain fall outside and I long to be out there. I love it, wait, I was promised sun 24/7. Stupid Santa Monica.

"Rory" Zephyr says and I ignore him "Aurora" he sighs. He leaves it a few more seconds before he physically grabs my face and makes me face him. "Oh hey there cutie, didn't see story there." He smiles

"What?" I snap.

"What's wrong?" He says looking confused "I get we drifted apart but surely you are happy to see me... right?" He asks

"Rory!" Anna quietly screams

I whip my head round, flicking my hair in Zephyrs face so be fucks off, to see what she wants. "'Tis my name" I confirm for them

"I can't believe we're finally meeting!" she says smiling

Then May jumps in with "it's my best friend! In the flesh!"

"Actually guys she was my best friend" Zephyr buts in.

"Hey Zeph" I fake smile

"Yes darling?" He smiles

"Emphasis on the word was. You dropped me when I needed you most. You fucking ruined me. Some best friend you were, dropping me for some skank." I say and the the bell goes off, saved by the bell, so they do actually useful things rather than make teachers repeat, 'the bell doesn't dismiss you, I do!' What everyone ignores anyway.

And that was how I reunited with Zephyr.
