At a young age stein noticed that he had no understanding of feelings and why people had them, to him they seemed inconvenient and uncontrollable.
Such things, to him, seemed pointless and a waste of time.
So stein focused on what he did understand, this in his case, science.
So while people were talking about who they were interested in, Stein was doing experiments and research into all things that seemed interesting to him.
So it came a surprise when he found someone that didn't seem to leave his mind.
His name was Spirit, he didn't seem special by any means, Which was why Stein was confused.
This seemingly average boy was just like everyone else, yet he was always on Stein's mind.
Stein was determined to figure out why this was, and luckily for him Spirit recently became his new weapon.
This gave Stein a chance to get a close look into who Spirit is and why he was so obsessed with him.During the first month of their partnership Stein grew increasingly frustrated, all observations he made on Spirit did not lead him to why he was so obsessed with the guy. And what was worse is during said observations he became even more obsessed with him.
His plan backfired.
Every time they fought together Stein grew increasingly confused, him and Spirit were so in sync.
They always seemed to know what the other was about to do.
While Stein would never admit it, he was scared, never in his life had anyone been able to predict him so well.
No one had been able to stay in the same room with him for more than an hour without being forced, and yet Spirit does it willingly.
The thoughts of "why?" and "what makes him different?" circle Steins head more and more every day.
It got to the point where it was all he could think about, it distracted him during fights and when he was so lost in his thoughts that he almost got killed, he decided to take real action.
After a lot of thinking and analysing the situation, Stein decided to do what he does best.
He was going to dissect Spirit.
