History Class
"Graduation and awards night is coming up. I am very proud of this class. Several of you will be recognized for your achievements throughout the year." Cory told the class.
"Awards are a scam! A girl like me never had a chance, Matthews. Never had a chance." Maya stood up and after her rant, she looked at the Matthews twins.
"All right, we'll do it." Elliot sighed.
"But it's ridiculous," Riley added.
They stood up.
"It's a scam, Matthews!" Elliot yelled.
"She never had a chance!" Riley yelled.
"Maya will be receiving the Griff Hawkins totally cool award," Cory announced.
Maya calmly sat down as everyone clapped.
"Maya, you just found out you won the totally cool award, yet you just sit there?" Riley asked sitting down.
Maya just stared at her.
"Oh, you're being cool. Why won't you rub off on me?" Riley asked.
"Wait, my wife is getting an award and I'm not? This can't be happening." Elliot complained.
"I'm not your wife," Maya told him.
"Elliot Matthews will be receiving the award for most protective," Cory announced.
"I mean who else," Elliot smirked as everyone clapped.
"And our two finalists for the scholar-athlete award are Lucas Friar." Cory pointed to Lucas as he was walking around.
Everyone clapped.
"And Billy Ross." Cory pointed him as well.
"I hope you're ready for some competition, dude," Billy smirked at Lucas.
"Oh, well, you know how I hate competition." Lucas smiled.
They laughed and then glared at each other.
They did it another time and then just smiled at each other.
"Hey, golden boys, you wanna hop down from your cloud of awesomeness? You're making us normals feel bad." Maya spoke up.
"Yeah. Right after our handshake of awesomeness." Billy replied.
They did their handshake and then sat down.
"Everyday." Maya sighed.
"That handshake is so ironic." Elliot chuckled.
"How do you figure?" Lucas asked.
"It's not awesome. It's lame. I mean you both get praised for hitting a ball and running in a square form or shooting a ball in a net. It's ridiculous." Elliot rolled his eyes.
