I clutched at my hair screaming into the cold, frosty air. The thin, excuse I had for a coat, lay on the freezing ground. I watched as my fingers inched towards him.

"No," I begged him, my voice only coming out as a mere whisper, "Please don't."

As if my words had been swept away by the wind, he swung his legs, still humming that stupid song.

"Listen to me!"

This time, he heard me. Slowly, his head turned and he faced me. His skin was as beautiful as ever, still soft and immaculate. Grinning, he waved me to him.

"What brings you here, little one?"

"Remember the deal? Remember that?"

He nodded.

"I am yours, yes?"

"What are you trying to say, little one?"

"Don't leave me," I croaked, my fingers reaching to his neck.

His hand reached out to mine, grasping it tightly. With his other hand, he loosened the black ribbon that was wrapped loosely around my neck. Instead of throwing it out into the open space in front of him, he pushed my head down, forcing me to go on my knees. I winced but made no noise, hoping to please him.

"Now," he began, his voice creating shivers up my spine, "You must learn to be good, little one."

Slowly but carefully, he wrapped the ribbon around my head, shutting my eyes. My breathing hitched as I felt his feathery fingers dance up my head. He fashioned the ribbon into a large bow.

"What do I do now?" I asked, feeling myself get colder and colder by the second.

No answer.

"Hello?"

I ripped the blindfold off, just in time to see his last grin to me.

"See you soon, little one."

"NO!"

His robes billowed out behind him as he gave a gentle push, throwing himself off the cliff's edge. I jumped forward, attempting to grab hold onto something. Anything! If only it meant seeing him alive! Instead, my desperate fingers closed around the harsh, biting air. I could only watch and scream as his figure fell into the water's abyss.

"VINCENT!"
