I sighed as I slumped down in my chair at the back of Miss Plant's English class. It was the first lesson of the first week back after summer. I was now in year 10 and knew I had to start working hard at school, I wasn't exactly stupid but I definitely needed to put in more effort. The bell rang and the teacher quietened the class. Just as she started the register a boy with dark curly hair burst through the door. The whole class turned to look at him and as he tripped and almost fell. A wide smile beamed on his face but quickly faded when the teacher told him to stop being an idiot and take a seat. He looked around the class at the possible places to sit and for some reason he sat next to me. He's always been at this school but I have never spoken to him, or for that matter even seen him. Mikey" I smiled and just replied with "I'm Jess" I am such an awkward person it's kind of embarrassing.
I started my work and sat silently the whole lesson. Finally the bell rang, it was break. I had been listening to music so I put my headphones in my bag and walked out of the classroom. I walked down the hallway to my group of friends. I heard someone saying my name down the hall. I turned round to see Mikey running towards me. "Hey you left your phone" he said with his award winning smile glued to his face "oh yeah thanks" I awkwardly said back, "see you tomorrow" he turned and walked over to his friends. "Ooooooo he's cute" I turned to Lily and rolled my eyes "what? He is and he's into you" she giggled as we walked down the hall towards the food hall.
