Chapter 40: New start

"Why did you call me a liar?" I asked.

He sighed and put his breakfast sandwich down.

"I was mad and I wasn't thinking. I'm sorry." He said his head hanging low.

"It's ok. I forgive you." I said sitting down on his lap.

I had the hospital gown on, but I put my underwear and shorts on before I woke Zach up.

"Really? Will you come back home?" He asked quickly and full of hope.

"Sure." I replied with a nod of my head.

"Do you forgive me?"

"Yes."

"Becky... Will you marry me?" He asked taking the ring out of his pocket.

It was a different ring.

It was larger and more expensive.

"Zach, you didn't have to spend all this money for me." I said in awe.

"But, I love you. And I would do anything for you." He replied.

"Zach, I love you, too." I said smashing my lips onto his.

He kissed back and slid his tongue in my mouth.

I moaned against his lips until Brad woke up.

"Get a room. That's the worst thing to wake up to." He said shuffling in his seat.

"The best part of waking up, is seeing your brother making out with his girlfriend in the hospital." Carlos sang singing the end very quickly to go with the tune.

"I'll take that as a yes?" Zach asked raising his eyebrow.

I nodded and pulled him in for a hug.

I buried my face in the crook of his neck.

"I love you." He said wrapping his as around my back.

"I love you more." I replied.

"Bitch, I just fucking saved your life." He joked.

I laughed and held him tighter.

"Can we go home now?" I ask like a little child on a road trip.

"No, babe. You're still sore and you haven't finished you're checkup." He replied.

"I have more?" I asked.

"Yup. Just to see how you are doing."

"I better get a lollipop after this." I mumbled to myself.

He chuckled and picked me up off his lap bridal style and put me on the bed.

"Now, rest. You need plenty of it." He ordered.

"No! I had a nightmare last time." I said.

I covered my mouth quickly with both my hands, knowing he was gonna ask what it was about.

"Aw, babe, what was it about?" He asked getting in the bed and holding me close.

He was stroking my hair and waiting for my response.

"Did I say nightmare? Oh I meant, uh, dream. It was fine. Goodnight." I said turning away and closing my eyes.

"Becky? There is something you're not telling me."

I made fake snoring sounds hoping he would buy it.

"You don't even snore. Seriously, just tell me. I won't be mad." He reassured me.

I sigh and begin telling him the dream.

"Ok so, I was married to Jacob with two kids, Emma and Jayden."

He paused and then started shouting.

"BECKY! THAT'S AMAZING!" He yelled.

I thought he was gonna cuss me out.

"What?" I asked.

"EMMA AND JAYDEN! FOR THE TWINS!" He shouted with a huge grin on his face.

"Those are cute!" I said thinking about them.

He quickly leaned in and planted a kiss on my lips.

"What twins?"
