Hot Summers Day In The Middle Of May

It was a hot summers day in the middle of May when Rose knocked on my door, her face was dripping with sweat as she removed her brightly blue coloured cap. I frowned at the sight of her, she always went for a run in the morning and woke us up every time. Her blonde curly hair slung on her shoulder lifelessly. "Yes?" I asked her in a obviously irritated tone. She continued to catch her breathe before she politely smiled and said, "Can I come in?". I motioned her inside silently. It was becoming obvious that she was locked out of her room again. "So I was wondering if-" She tried to explain but I quickly cut her off, "You always forget to take your key with you!" I moaned. "I'm really sorry Darla, I truly am!" Rose began to blush, or she was just exhausted from the run but her face definitely went red.

These are the downsides to going to boarding school.

I strolled down the brightly lite corridor, making a quick glance into the matron's office, there lay dusty old books and a out of date computer. I frowned, she seemed to never be there. "Great" I mumbled. I decided the best option from here was to just hang around until she arrived. I scratched off the metallic silver nail polish, remembering that it wasn't aloud, slicked back my hair until it followed the schools standards and slouched onto the cushioned chair outside the door. I looked at my watch It's 7:20am, I yawned and closed my eyes hoping to get a little sleep.

"Darla?" I heard a distant, confused voice snap. I looked up to notice the boarding matron staring at me with her head slightly tilted. "I was waiting for you to get here, I need my cellphone!" I chuckled awkwardly. She sighed, and began to unlock it impatiently.

Once I had my phone I almost immediately started texting my best-friend Marianne, me and her had a conversation for about an hour, until the lunch bell went off. At this point I began to make my way down to Alex's room. We both walked down to the dining room and got our trays and cutlery. Alex always had such a positive mind. We never talked about sad things in the world, only good, and Alex would never be mean to me, never put me down. In some sort of way I was in love, but not really, that would be really weird.

After we finished eating, we made our way upstairs. Alex and I sat on the bed staring out the window. We were just innocently talking about hockey when Alex leaned forward to kiss me. I began to look into Alex's eyes and lean forward. But at the last second Rose came through, I almost bit her head off.

Ok so as you have probably guessed, Alex is a dude. I didn't want to tell you, because its actually nothing like that, were just friends.

Ok to be continued!
