Mary's P.O.V

I stood in line for X-factor with my brother. I looked around to see over a million people standing in line with us. Then, I looked over to my brother, Louis',

" Are you nervous?" I choked.

He turned his light blue eyes to meet mine, " Tons, I mean what was I thinking auditioning for this."

" Don't say that boo bear you'll be fine, I'll be there rooting you on." I encouraged.

That's when I heard my name,

" Mary Tomlinson, you're up." The announcer called.

My brother took me in his arms as we hugged and he whispered,

" Good luck, Mary."

My knee's were weak as I followed the announcer. My hands sweaty and shaking. I was about to turn around and walk away as someone spinned me on my heels, so I was was facing them. I turned to see a boy with curly hair and green eyes staring down at me,

" Don't be nervous and good luck."

He whispered causing my heart to gain a million butterflies. The boy with curly hair handed me the microphone and then kissed me on the cheek. Then, he stepped back and ran to his family. I turned around to see him embracing his mom in a hug but, his eyes on me. I smiled, as he winked. The announcer pushed me onto the stage as I began to walk. I faced Nicole Scherzinger, Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and a thousand of strangers in the crowd.

My heart pounded in my chest as I sputtered,

" Hello!"

" And what is your name, lovely?" Nicole asked.

"Mary Tomlinson." I responded.

Simon added, " And how old are you?"

I began to feel comfortable under the lights, " Sixteen."

" Young and goregous!" Louis emphasized.

I giggled at his comment.

" What will you be singing for us?" Louis spoke.

" Umm, If I ain't got you by Alicia Keys!" I advised.

They all nodded at my request. The music started to play and I sang along:

Some people live for the fortune

Some people live just for the fame

Some people live for the power, yeah

Some people live just to play the game

Some people think that the physical things

Define what's within

And I've been there before

But that life's a bore

So full of the superficial

Some people want it all

But I don't want nothing at all

If it ain't you baby

If I ain't got you baby

Some people want diamond rings

Some just want everything

But everything means nothing

If I ain't got you, Yeah

Some people search for a fountain

That promises forever young

Some people need three dozen roses

And that's the only way to prove you love them

Hand me the world on a silver platter

And what good would it be

With no one to share

With no one who truly cares for me

Some people want it all

But I don't want nothing at all

If it ain't you baby

If I ain't got you baby

Some people want diamond rings

Some just want everything

But everything means nothing

If I ain't got you, you, you

Some people want it all

But I don't want nothing at all

If it ain't you baby

If I ain't got you baby

Some people want diamond rings

Some just want everything

But everything means nothing

If I ain't got you, yeah

If I ain't got you with me baby

So nothing in this whole wide world don't mean a thing

If I ain't got you with me baby

When I finished the crowd erupted in claps. Simon stood from his chair, Nicole had tears in her eyes, and Louis looked amazed.

Was I that good, I thought to myself.

" That was wonderful. You have an amazing voice!" Louis bragged.

I could feel myself bulsh as I said thank you.

Nicole speaks up, " You're very talented and this is what I joined x-factor for. To find people like you!"

I nod as Simon glances at me, " I think you can be the next big thing and I would like to be the reason for it!"

Then, Simon looks at Louis, " Whats it going to be?"

" Yes!" I begin to cry.

" Yes!" Tears slip down my face.

" Absolutely, massive yes!" Simon finishes.

I mutter thank you into the microphone for the second time and then I run backstage to my mom. I hug her as the image of a boy surfaces my mind. Just to think of his curls and beautiful green eyes give me the chills. I hug the rest of my family as I looked to my left and saw a person. Worry filled his eyes. I laughed at how much I loved him.

I moved closer and tapped his shoulder. He turned and tried to put on a smile for me.

" Congrats!" He beckoned.

I handed him the microphone forgetting it was still in my hand, " I think this is for you!"

He smiled and pulled me into a hug but, got cut short because he got pushed onto the stage.

Now there was only one thing I had left to do!
