It was kind of weird to leave my hometown. But I had no option. After my father's death, I was almost a broke except for the two-bedroom apartment in London. But in order to move on I needed money. It was impossible to complete my studies while staying in London without any money for my livelihood. I was lucky enough to get a buyer for the apartment pretty soon. And the price that  I got was pretty generous.

I have lost fifteen kilos in three months. And I am sure I look pretty thin, pale and droopy. I worked my ass off as a cleaner in a cafeteria near my apartment. Rob, my boss was a generous guy. He always insisted to have food from the cafeteria. I used to refuse to take any help, but when my stomach gave in and I fainted on the guest's table, I had no option but to take his help. But that didn't go for long, since he had an ultra motive in his head. I was the last person to stay back in the café after the closing time since I had to arrange the chairs and clean the floor to make it ready for the next day.

And then, one night he tried to assault me. I could taste tacky alcohol when he shoved his thick, yucky throat inside my mouth. I almost gagged and tried to push him back. But he was muscular compared to my stick figure. I tried to fight him back but when he tried to tear my apron, I kicked him in-between his legs making him release me instantly. He tumbled to the floor curing me furiously. Taking this opportunity I kicked him one last time, this time with my 4-inch heel all almost at the same point making him wince in pain and ran other of the cafeteria holding my dear life.

There was no time to cry about what had happened. I unlocked the door of my apartment and took my essentials then locked it back before running out of the area.

Julia, one of my colleagues in the cafeteria, convinced me to stay with her till my apartment was sold when I called her up and told her about the whole incident. Still, there were no tears. I couldn't afford to shade them since I have to collect myself and move out of this place and I knew if I  because an emotional fool at this moment I will lose every hope for whatever was left with me.

After almost 10 days I  heard good news from the real estate agent that someone wants to buy my apartment. After that, there was no looking back. Once my apartment was sold I paid back Julia the expenses that I had incurred during my stay in her house. Initially, she didn't accept but even she didn't have a  choice because her condition was also not very different from mine and each penny was a lifeline.

It was a little hard to part ways with her since she had become a good friend of mine, especially because she game be sheltered when I needed it the most. Unlike my father who lost every penny, my mother earned before she die of pneumonia gambling and bringing hookers into our apartment she helped me out even when I had no blood relation with her.

Luckily he left the apartment for me, or maybe he didn't get the opportunity to gamble that before he died due to an alcohol overdose.
