While Tzuyu and Kris were talking in the room, Mina and Xiaonai were left in the living room which was completely silent.
"I'm Xiaonai, you must be Mina," He offered his hand and Mina gladly took it. Then another round of silence came, so he asked, "How long have you known the Chou's?"
Mina tried to recall when she had met them and then answered, "I met Tzuyu about the first month of school so that was four months ago, as for her brother and mom , a month ago."
"I see," He said. "But her dad?"
"Just today."
He found Mina's quietness a bit awkward but she was someone bearable for a guy like him. The maids offered them a few snacks while waiting for the rest to come back in their company.
Mina leaned closer to the table to get some chips to eat when Tzuyu walked back in and said, "Let's go home Mina."
The girl was startled with the sudden command so she ended up following Tzuyu. She got up from the couch and followed her to leave the place until Xiaonai interrupted, "Tzuyu, what's going on? We haven't done anything yet but you're already leaving."
The tall girl turned around displeased and put up a smile that ended up looking bitchy instead, "We have some important things to do. I'll just catch up with Mina next time."
The two of them left the house and Xiaonai followed them but Kris blocked him to prevent the man from leaving the property to force them to stay, "Let them leave. We were talking earlier and I think it's better if they do whatever business they have first."
"W-what about your mom and da-"
"I'll talk to them," Kris said reassuringly and the younger boy nodded. Xiaonai was still doubtful and suspicious about it though, not letting any ideas slip off of his mind.
Mr. Jung was already driving the two girls back home in the middle of the day and their mouths were completely shut. Mina fidgeted with her gentle fingers, debating with herself if she should ask Tzuyu what's wrong.
As her very close acquaintance – which she obviously wasn't, Mina asked Tzuyu in a very soft tone, "Tzuyu-ah, did something go wrong?"
The girl was lost in her thoughts that she barely even processed Mina's words. The only time she noticed that her love was talking to her was when she saw Mina's reflection at the window looking at her worriedly.
"oh um..." Tzuyu nervously muttered, shifting her position to face Mina in her seat, "I... I think it's much better if we talk about it later."
"Oh, okay."
Tzuyu's POV:
How am I supposed to tell Mina this?
If Kris would've told me about his dumb plan anytime sooner, we could've been prepared for this. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket for the past few minutes and I could tell that it was either mom or dad calling me.
"We've arrived," said Mr. Jung, opening the window that separated us from him. I hurriedly got out of the car after he opened the door for me and Mina. "I'll see you soon Ms. Chou."
Mina and I bowed at him and we both went upstairs. I told her to go back to her room to change and rest for a bit while I try to gather myself.
This is hard as hell.
"Care to explain why you're hanging out with Mina more than me?" Yin bitchily– if that's even a word, said behind me while I waited for the elevator.
I sighed and turned around, "Sorry about little one."
"Little one?" She raised an eyebrow up. "Geez, never mind. Forget about it."
