The atmosphere felt colder than usual, although the sun was a clear sight behind me. The unexpected weather did not bother me, for I felt a spark in the air today. Honking horns and wheels of expensive cars zoomed past, allowing a sudden trail of chills run down my spine. For a split second, I looked towards the speeding vehicle, unaware that someone who I would blush for was walking right in my direction. It was too late when I looked back, feeling a bump near my broad shoulder and instantly looking down at the stranger who had fallen because of my lack of mind. Not hesitating, I let out my right hand in offer to help her get back on her feet, the sound of a phone hitting the ground feet away. What a fool I was! Now getting a chance to look at her features, I was rapidly strucken by her. I held back nervous stutters that quickly dissapeared from my throat, my outgoing side suddenly roaring to be shown.

"Hi, sorry about that, beautiful. I wasn't watching where I was going. I'm so sorry." If you looked into my eyes close enough, an expression going along the lines of 'Did I just say that?' would be clearly visible. I became confused when she covered her mouth with her hand, not knowing what should run through my thoughts at the moment. My stomach dropped when I heard her voice, "Oh.. it's cool, same here, it's not completely your fault." I swallowed a soft chuckle, her voice making me feel relaxed and calm. I gently pulled her up with my right hand when she accepted the offer. We couldn't just leave like this. Of course, she probably had somewhere to be, but I was stubborn for at least her number or a simply conversation. It was like a new side of me was forming, and this one I seemed to enjoy the most over my soft side. Make a good impression, I thought repeatedly. "Well, where are you going?" I rubbed my nape with my right hand nervously, attempting not to make her feel uncomfortable. "Why? You wouldn't care." I responded almost immediently, curling my lips to put on a smirk, "How do you know?" It seemed like a while, although it was only seconds, when she responded. "The bookstore." At first my face lit up in joy of that familiar place, but I faked a frown and let a gulp of air escape from my lips, which was close to a sigh. "Told you, you wouldn't want to come." I bit my lip and turned my head, resisting the urge to fight back, saying that I would actually be delighted to go. I didn't know why he kept up this act for so long just to stay different. Another reason why I was a fool. I turned my head back with a determinded expression, "Fine, but at least give me your number."

I was surprised that she actually pulled out her notebook and wrote down her number. After all, I did bump her over, and her phone flew through the air in the middle of it. How long have we been talking again? It seemed like time passed ever so quickly. She ripped the small corner of the paper and handed it to me, my hands gripping it tightly. I checked over the digits in purple ink, scanning them to see if it was one of those fake numbers. Suprisingly, I didn't believe it was. My lips curled into a smile, almost a grin, and I walked away without any words spoken, my throat clogged. She was beautiful. How did I get her number so quickly? Perhaps it was because she felt bad for me. No-- it didn't seem like she was. Questions and little answers drove through my highway of a mind.

Time passes, and now I am in the bookstore, exactly where she was heading towards. It was stupid of me to try to keep this a secret. I was almost positive I would bump into her and drama would appear. I guessed she wasn't that included in drama, but I could never be sure. Her words seemed unexpected when she gave me her number that was now crumpled up into my pocket. I looked at all of the books and the titles, trying to look for one in particular. A blue cover on a mysterious book appeared in my vision with a title imprinted in a unique font, "The Fault in Our Stars". A split second afterwards, I felt a breath on my neck and instantly turned, now seeing the woman that I was just thinking of reaching for my hat. Immediently, my hand trembled as I gripped onto my book. The expression on her face instantly told me that I had an excuse to say. "Um," I started, "this isn't what it looks like. I don't like reading. I'm a hipster..." I saw her large, and almost hypnotizing, pupils lock right onto the book I held, although I tried to hide it. "Wait, you hate reading? It must be so boring in that poor, little mind of yours." She grabs my hat rapidly, but I was quick to snatch it back before she locked a grip on it and placed it back on my head, hiding my quite messy hairstyle. "Ok, please don't tell anybody," I sighed quietly, an unexpected smile curling upon my lips as she zips her's. She took the book from my hand and leaded me up to the counter before whispering to me a plan that seemed like she made it hours before, "Act like an annoyed boyfriend." I crossed my arms and looked up at the cieling to hide my blushing cheeks. She pays for the books, which I let her do for once, and we both leave the bookstore side to side.
