There she was again, falling into the darkness. Her eyes stared at him. She had succumbed to the scene before her, completely frozen with dread. She felt the pain in her heart. How real was it? Had she been wounded? There was blood on her hands, but whose was it? She thought back to the path of sadness that had brought her here. She felt flooded, as all the memories seem flash right in front of her eyes in an instant. It wasn't all sad, but the path led her here to a place that even her nightmares couldn't bring to life.

She was back in that place, trapped again. Blades swiped across her body, but there was no pain only numbness. This can't be real! Her mind screamed, but she felt as if she was lying to herself. The beast stood in front of her, bearing a mask with a face similar to her father's. It wasn't him, but at the same time it was him. It was just the two of them in the darkness. He came closer, putting his body against hers. His icy cold hands touching her skin, traveling about freely. But I escaped! I know I did! Joseph–Her mind tried to take her away, but she couldn't escape. Her eyes stared off into the darkness around them, begging it to end. She wanted the darkness to take her, and it did.

"Niki, wake up will you! Whatever you're dreaming about isn't real, but I am and you're keeping me awake!" A voice seemed to come from her mind, but it felt more real than the darkness. Nikita reach out to it, to the reality. Her eyes blinked open to see a female face in front of her.

"Finally, you're awake. You were having nightmares again, thrashing around, whimpering. I guess night terrors are the better word for them. I didn't think I would ever be able to awake you, and I certainly couldn't get any sleep with you making so much noise." The face said, as Nikita sat up slowly. Nikita looked around the room, then her eyes tried to focus in on the person looking at her. She felt like she was in a trance, in a new dream. "Hey! You ok? What were you dreaming about?" The person said holding Nikita's face in her hands. Nikita focused on her face, on who she was. Her hands felt cold against Nikita's cheek, making Nikita quickly move away. "Oh, sorry! That's right you don't like to be touched, and my hands must be cold." Her voice was loud and only held remnants of being sleepy.

Nikita started to feel more awake, but it was still hard to recognize the person in front of her in the darkness of the room. Was she a friend or foe? "C-can y-you turn on a l-light?" Nikita shuddered barely getting the words out.

"Sure, I guess. That must have been some dream. Your voice is still quivering." The voice said.

Suddenly light illuminated the room, and Nikita closed her eyes to allow them to adjust. When she opened her eyes, she saw her familiar appearance, her yellow eyes and white hair. She looked older, or at least more mature than Nikita. In reality, they were the same age. "A-Alicia, I didn't r-realize it was you. Sorry, for keeping you awake." Nikita said still trembling slightly. Nikita couldn't help but continue to think about the nightmare she just had. It could have easily been her reality.

"Hmm ah I guess it probably was hard to recognize me in the dark. You know if you were really sorry, you would take the pills that would keep this from happening." Alicia said holding up a small pill bottle and shaking it gently. "These could take all those nightmares away and put you to sleep quickly. One pill equals one peaceful night of sleep for both of us"

"Yeah, but those pills also take away what few good dreams I have. I'm not so sure I like sleeping dreamlessly anyways." Nikita said, taking the pill bottle from her.

"Even so is not taking them worth the risk. Wouldn't you rather get some sleep than take the chance? Besides you'll need the sleep for tomorrow. You always want to look your best so you can get adopted. You can't do that with bags under your eyes." Alicia said with some worry.
