June 28th, 2011

So I don't really know how to start a diary entry so this is how it's going to go...

Tuesday. Who even came up with the name of the days of the week? Pretty sick gig if you ask me, maybe that's the kinda of job I need since my future is as looking as bright as dead 60 watt light bulb. But on the bright side of this Tuesday I'm graduating high-school today so I guess I'm not that bad. Yay for the uncontrollable future...

Alright so, goodbye?

Nova xxx

It was a Tuesday afternoon, my first official day off school and first official day I was done any mandatory schooling. I had spent the day like I'm going to spend the rest of my summer; wake up at noon check my phone to see that I had no new text messages since all of my friends are  either living " Summer 2011 best one yet! <3" or packing up for their post secondary endeavors. All except one, me. I stepped out of the shower and looked at my phone to see if anything had changed. To my surprise I had one message;

"N!" Can you believe that in less than 3 hours we'll be tossing our caps?!? OMG, do you remember the first day of high-school :'( Seems like just yesterday, but whateve's I've got a killer dress that I CAN'T wait to show you tonight... Can you say HELLO college boys ;) "

Ainsley was the exact opposite from me. She had her future all planned out and had since the day I met her. She was attending Columbia University in September and planned on becoming an orthopaedic surgeon. Her grades were top of the class as was her popularity which always made me wonder why we even hung out. I was much more....not Ainsley. As of today June 28th I have no idea  where I'm going in September and as far as my popularity, well I'm pretty sure the number of texts in my inbox will be enough proof.

" Haha I can't believe we've even made it this far, I'm going to throw my hat like Elle Woods in legally blond!"

I was lying of course I could really careless about graduation, I open my closet doors and pulled out a white lace dress from Forever 21, which had been siting in my closet since my mom insisted on buying it for me back in May because it look "Wonderful" on me. I straightened my long blond hair and took one look at my reflection in the mirror and decided that maybe I should try my hardest to look good today, so I put created a smokey eye and topped it off with Stila "Acai Crush" lip stain from Sephora. I took another look in the mirror and was shocked at how pretty I looked.

"Oh Nova!" My mother said while trying her hardest not to cry

" I know who knew I was this pretty"

" I did honey you'll always be the most beautiful girl in the world to me" She said with a smile on her face and a tear running down her cheek.

Its times like this where  I want to gag beacause it's exactly like a sceen in an overally romantic movies with over-emotional mother and a daughter who could really care less.

" But lets get going I want to get front row seats of you and Ainsley walking across the stage"

And with that I buckled my seat belt and headed to my high- school for one last time.
