She sneaks out in the middle of the night
Tight dress with the top cut low
She's addicted to the feeling of letting go
She walks in and the room just lights up
But she don't want anyone to know
That I'm the only one that gets to take her home
...
It started with a nightclub party. She walked into the room dressed to dance. Her blonde hair in a neat, almost businesslike bob was curled and hung loosely at her shoulder, softening her features. He walked in behind her, admiring the way that the room could look dark and lit up all at once. Of course. He wasn’t going to last long dancing with the so many people around, even in disguise. So he went to the bar to grab a drink, he found himself enjoying that more lately. Drinking and chatting to a few people rather than getting sweaty for a one night stand so that some over the top fan could get a bit of money ranting to a journalist the next day. He didn’t notice that she had gone to the bar as well and was sitting right next to him with a beer. It wasn’t until the light hit her blonde hair and made it appear more blue that he saw her there, she was looked at him inquisitively before turning away. The room seemed lighter.
About two steady drinks later, he could see something was wrong. She was nervous, and no one so beautiful, he thought, should ever have to worry. Because he couldn’t bear that expression on someone as pretty as she. He leant over the bar and tapped her on the shoulder, she turned to him, startled and nodded
“Can I help you?” She asked, he shook his head. What a pretty accent. He thought, it seemed to be a mix of Irish and Australian
“No I was just checking that you were alright love, you seem distressed.” He said, offering a kind smile, she looked at him sceptically,
“I’m fine.” She said dismissively and he nodded, respectfully returning to his drink
Another drink on and some girls had cornered him. Asking absurd, crazy questions, one of them, assured in her mind that he was Louis Tomlinson of One Direction was really insistent that he should marry her. And he was looking extremely nervous. So the blonde got up, cupping her drink close to her chest and walked over, “Oh Jordie. There you are.” She smiled, excusing herself from one of the girls and sitting next to Louis, smiling, “I’ve been looking for you everywhere dear.” She smiled, winking at him, he nodded
“Sorry dear, I came to get you another drink.” He said softly, she looked at her near empty glass as though considering it,
“Wise idea.” She said, then turned to the girls, “Friends of yours love?” She asked, they shook their drunk heads and stuttered out an apology before leaving, he thanked her, bought her the drink and each of them returned to sitting in silence drinking.
Drink four finished and she finally opened her mouth.
“What are you doing in a place like this Tomlinson?” She asked, he looked at her in shock. Nearly spilling his drink
“Excuse me?”
“Well all you’re doing is drinking a beer. You could do that at home. You could do that with friends. But you’re alone. Alone would usually imply you wanna pick up someone yet you’ve pushed away everyone thats come close to you”
“I like watching the people around me. What about you? You’ve been the same...” She sighed at the thought.
“I was stood up by my friends.” She said, “And so I decided to stay and drink.” She smiled in a bittersweet kind of way. He looked at her sadly.
