For each priest or priestess a gift will be bestowed. For each gift one must undergo a suffering that the son of god has gone under. Priestess Spina has lost her lover so long ago to war. Through prayers and belief of seeing her lover in the afterlife she stayed true to the Lord. Repenting if a sin was done or doubts went through her mind about the Lord. After the loss of her lover she joined a church as a Priestess given the new name Spina. When people started killing priests and priestesses Spina was sent into hiding holding the last copies of the old and new testament. The hunters, and those of high social status had burned the rest leaving nothing of religion except for historical purposes. Churches rose up in flames, anything considered religious was destroyed. God spoke to Spina once she was in a safe place for her to practice her religion.
"Child for thou suffering I shall bestow on you a power to defend yourself and the last copies of my teachings. Do not fear for you will not be alone in this dark time. I am always with you my child. As I am with all my children. To obtain this gift you must undergo one of the many sufferings my son has gone through to cleanse humanity of their sins. Be it by thorn, whip, cross, betrayed, or death purification. You and 4 others will be given this chance. What suffering do you choose?"
Thinking long about this decision, along with consulting the guidance of god's teachings, Spina chose to suffer with thorn. Jesus was made to wear a crown of thorns until his death on the cross. A glow appeared on the floor revealing a rose like crown of thorns. Each thorn looking sharper than any blade.

Picking up the crown Spina removed her hood getting ready to place the crown on her head. Two or three of her fingers getting pricked by the thorns in the process. Right before she placed it on her head a snake appeared out of the shadows. Speaking in a sweet tempting voice to her of how he could give her a greater power with a lot less suffering. She spoke clearly.
"Denier and Betrayer of God Be Gone For My Faith Will Never Wane To The Lord. No Matter How Sickeningly Sweet or Tempting your words may be there is always a price to pay for any deal made with the devil. Of that I will have NO part of."
Placing the crown on her head the thorns dug into her skin causing drops of blood to fall. The crown glowed white sealing itself into her flesh and bone as she suffered just like Jesus did so very many years ago for their sins. God gave her control of thorn plants, or any item based on thorns design. God spoke again.
"Four others will be given a chance at a gift as well. You shall have to travel far to meet them."
Spina asked where they could be found. God answered.
"Follow the star that lead the 3 kings to my son. There you will find the others."
God's voice left as Spina stood up holding the books tightly.
'God grant me safe passage on this journey to my brothers or sisters. In my hands I hold the last copies known to me of your teachings. May they survive if I do not. Amen'
Off Spina walked into the forests and shadows following the star. Believing that God will guide her.
(Heyyo DarknessDivine here sorry I haven't been able to write in any of my other stories lately. Between work and college I have had no time lately but recently got the idea for this story. Now the next 4 chapters will be about the other brothers and sisters. Each will have a name meaning what suffering they went through. Spina means Thorn in Latin. After I introduce the 5 children of God then I will continue to write about what difficulties and trials they go through on their journeys. No pictures or videos are mine only this story.
