"Um... Excuse me, you're Yoongi oppas friend, right?"

Hoseok smiled at the girl standing nervously in front of him. He knew what she wanted, she wasn't the first to approach him, and she probably wouldn't be the last, at least, not until Yoongi was no longer on the market, so to speak.

"Yes."

"Would...would you give him this?" She held her heartkey out for him to take.

"Why don't you give it to him yourself?" He asked.

"Everyone knows Yoongi oppa refuses to try any heartkeys. You're the only one that can get him to do it. Please?"

Hoseok internally sighed, though he kept the smile on his face. "Sure." He said, taking the girl's key.

"Oh, thank you!"

---------------------------------------

Min Yoongi stood beneath a tree in the university courtyard, waiting for his bestfriend to arrive. Girls giggled and batted their eyelashes at him as they walked by. He simply rolled his eyes at their flirting.

"Hyung!"

Yoongi turned to see Hoseok running toward him.

"What the hell took you so long?" He complained, once the younger reached him.

"Sorry hyung, I was delayed." Hoseok removed a key from his pocket to show his friend.

"Are you fuckin' serious?" Yoongi said annoyed.

He hated that people used Hoseok to get to him. If they wanted him to try their keys, they should approach him themselves. He honestly didn't know what it was about him, that made him so appealing, that everyone clamoured to be his soulmate.

Truthfully, he didn't like the idea of a 'pre-destined soulmate', he wanted to choose his partner for himself.

Hoseok smiled sheepishly. "Sorry hyung, but she had me cornered."

Yoongi sighed. "Fine." He said curtly, snatching the key from his friends hand. He turned his back on Hoseok, in a semblance of privacy, before calling his heartlock.

Lock in hand, Yoongi shoved the key inside the lock, and attempted to open it.

Nothing.

He removed it from his heartlock with a tsk, and without turning around, handed it back to Hoseok over his shoulder. "Any more?"

Hoseok hesitated for a moment, but he knew he'd never get another chance like this.

"Y-yeah, there's one more, in my bag. Hold on, I'll get it." He turned his back on Yoongi as he slipped his bag off his shoulders, and kneeling down to unzip it on the pretense of retrieving a key, he secretly called upon his own.

Key in hand, he took a deep breath, before standing and turning back to his irritated friend. "Here."

Yoongi took the key, examining it for a moment. It was certainly a very elaborate and beautiful key, unlike the others he'd tried before. Examination complete, he inserted it into his lock, and turned the key.

*CLICK*

"Shit!"

Hoseok heard the silent curse. "Hyung, everything okay?"

Yoongi quickly turned to his friend. "It doesn't fit!" He practically yelled, as he tossed the key to Hoseok, before spinning on his heel and running away.

-----

Hoseok watched as Yoongi, his hyung, his bestfriend, the love of his life, ran away, before looking down at his heartkey, tears in his eyes. He had loved Yoongi since they were kids, but obviously, love wasn't enough.
