Our wings were torn off,
Feathers of white,
Poured down from the sky,
Gathered in whitening clouds,
Floated to the ground.
The gates were locked,
Shackled shut,
And we were told to never come back.
Pushed out of the sky,
Fell down and down,
Landed in a world,
Of feathers to cushion our fall.
Make it good,
Make it great,
Or don't expect to earn back your wings of faith.
Hearts so pure,
Wings once able to fly,
Still torn with demise,
Intent of beauty,
Lost to the urge of earning.
Goodbye my angels of the sky,
Downfall of feathers,
Unlocking of envy,
Never again shall you fly,
Unless you become,
An angel of the dark,
The keeper of the night skies.
Earn your wings of blackness,
Stampede the shining stars,
Until the moon is faded,
And the stars have vanished from sight.
Rid the world of the feathers,
Pure and white,
Don't hide the story in your eyes,
Each fallen angel,
Knows innocence is nothing but a lie.
Broken and torn,
Don't let it be the end,
The angels of the dark,
Only ask for oneself,
And will fight off the angels,
With wings too white,
Preaching to be holy and bright.
