Note: The [] are the character's thoughts.
Shrouded by darkness, with these hands I try to hold what I cannot seize, my strength was drained. A sudden rush of pain filled my body followed by shivers and coldness. With my heart beating weakly, I prayed for light with all my might. Then the breathing stopped.
As the specks and weaves of light floated around. A glimpse of myself as a child revealed itself. I remember the stories that I heard as a child that gave me a burning desire I once had. Something I've worked towards up until this darkness. That one desire from my past incarnation shot feelings of sadness and anger from the deepest of my being. What were those hurdles that I was making? The fiction and fantasies I admired so much have taught me no matter what, your dreams come true. Was I a fool to trust in those tall tales?
I didn't want to die... I wanted to keep living.
"Awaken..."
That voice reached my being. It echoed in my head. The specks and weaves of light became brighter as it called something inside of me. I opened my eyes and then breathed. The air felt still and slightly hard to breathe. Darkness filled the sight of my eyes. I was lying flat on my back on a cool rocky ground.Sitting up, I ran my hands around my face and hair and they felt warm. I'm alive still. But...
[Was I sleeping here?]
She wondered what type of area she just had awaken into. This became a strange situation for her.
"It's so dark.." I said out loud to no one in particular.
"What?! What the hell!?" A man with a deep voice cried.
"!" A strange gasp. It sounded like a female.
"H-huh?!" A startled woman's voice came after.
"Yo?" A young man's voice called out.
"There's others?" The man with the deep voice asked.
"I'm here." A woman with an accent answered.
"H-Here!" A high pitch female voice came after.
"Yo?" The young sounding man said in confusion.
"I guess that answers that.." The man with the deep voice mumbled.
"W-what should we do?" The high pitch woman said nervously.
"I-I d-d-dont know." The young man stuttered.
"Let us be calm for now." A woman with an accent said.
"Yeah. We can't think like this." The deep voiced man agreed.
"Okay." High pitch woman listened.
Someone sighed out loud. Probably the young man.
It seem everyone grew quiet. Probably thinking to themselves.
[It looks like I wasn't alone....]
The voices sounded human somehow.
[At least they sound confused too.]
[That's kinda reassuring for some reason.]
[How did I even end up here?.... and on top of that with other people.]
[This is kinda scary. I mean I don't even know where I am or how I got here... wait a sec.]
"Mmm.." she tried to remember anything before her current circumstance but what only came to mind were blank thoughts. There was nothing to remember. She couldn't think backwards and the more she put effort into it only caused her to frustrate. She shook her head.
