Sarah stepped onto platform 15b of Kings Cross station. She was dressed in a freshly pressed shirt and work apron, with a name badge that read "Call Me SARAH". On her left shoulder hung a leather satchel, that contained her phone, purse, make up, a lottery ticket from the previous Friday, a rouge button and various half-filled packets of chewing gum.

Sarah had thick, red lipstick on and a very prominent smoky eye. She wore no foundation and had a fairly clear complexion. Other than her rather pretty looks, Sarah was a normal woman on the way to her first day at her new job.

Although she was only 23, Sarah was quite mature looking for her age. She often wore her frizzy, brown hair up in a tight bun. She swiftly paced for about five minutes from the train station, stopping off for 2 extra minutes to pick up some cheap deodorant from the corner shop before reaching her new job.

The young woman stood outside the store front with a confident grin on her face. The shop was beautiful on the outside, with traditional signs and vintage displays in the window. One of the signs read 'Sharp and Pointy barbershop'

Before Sarah could even move, the front door of the barbers swung open and a 6 foot man, sporting the "lumber sexual" look appeared from behind it. "Well don't just stand there," He said to Sarah, in a deep and nasal voice "Come in!"

Sarah appeared dazed to the mans, whom she assumed to be Mr. Green, sudden remark. She followed him through the traditional and wood-lined barbers and to the back office. The office had the same interior effect as the shop floor, but was a little more cosy and messy.

Sarah joyfully initiated the conversation with "I presume you're Mr. Green, nice to meet you!" "Please, call me Joshua, it is what it says on my name tag after all!" Mr. Green replied with a slight hint of arrogance. Sarah cringed at the fact she hadn't even noticed his blatantly obvious name tag pinned to his apron.

She blushed as Joshua followed up his statement with many compliments about Sarah's appearance and skill sets and how he was looking forward to working with her. "Honestly, I think this will be a great opportunity for both of us." Joshua added in a thoughtful tone.

There was a knock at the office door.
"Joshua," an unfamiliar voice called in' "Your brother, Zach, is here." Joshua looked unpleased at this statement. "Tell him I'll be 5 minutes." He reluctantly replied. He turned to Sarah. "My brother has autism and I look after him when my mum and Dad go somewhere. He's high functioning autistic and is very slow. I love him so much, but he really gets on my wick."

"Is he staying in the salon all day?" Sarah queried. Joshua nodded "I can keep an eye on him if you want. It'd give you a bit of a break." She added. "I suppose that'd be quite helpful" Joshua replied with relief. "There's a staff room 'round the back with a ps3 and a couple of crappy games on it. Zach normally stays in their all day. If you could just pop in and check on him after every few customers. That is, if you don't mind?"

Sarah didn't even have to think about it. She knew that this task would get her in Josh's good books. "Sure, no probs!" Sarah smiled. The pair got up and wandered out of the office. "What the hell have I gotten myself into!" Sarah thought. "There's no point pondering on it though, I've already bloody agreed to it!"
