Hi, I'm Elizabeth, but I go by Eliza, some people call me E, Eli, Liz, Lizzy, and Beth, but I don't like being called "Beth". I'm 5'2, I know that's irrelevant but whatever. I am officially in grade 9 starting off high school, but it's currently the last day of summer break. I don't want it to end!
Anyways, I'm going to be telling you a story about when something crazy happened. Hmm when did it all start? Oh I know now, let's start at the beginning.
First day of summer break
I'm having a great day at the beach with my best friends Maeve, Kylie, and Lilyana.
Maeve, how do I describe her? Well Maeve is a very unique, pretty, crazy, smart, doesn't really care what other people think, weird, outgoing (most of the times), extremely tall (6'0), amazing friend. Maeve has extremely short red hair. She loves P!ATD (Panic! At The Disco). Maeve is going into grade 9 with me. Maeve has a lot of nicknames: Mauve, Mavis, Marve, Max, Cole, Marvin, and probably more but that's all I can think of on the spot.
Kylie is an amazing, funny, smart, pretty, crazy, weird, shy, quiet person. Kylie is just a little taller than me (5'3). Kylie is going into the 8th grade. Kylie has long blue hair.
Kylie has a few nicknames: croissant, moma croissantLilyana goes by Lily. Lily is smart, courageous, outgoing, pretty, crazy, weird, always there for someone who needs it, a great friend. Lily is also going into the 8th grade.
At the beach I just sat on the sand, thinking 'I'm so nervous for high school, what are people going to think of me? I bet I'll fail-'
"I'm boreddd let's go swimminggg" Lily said, interrupting my thoughts.
"Yeah, we came to the beach to go swimming, not sit around getting sand in between our toes." Maeve said.
"Ok, let's go swimming then." I said, trying not to think of high school.
We all stand up, then Kylie finally speaks, for what seems like the first time today "RACE YA!!" Then she books it to the water.
"Hey!" We all say at what seems like the same time.
Then we all run to the water, since we're all not athletic and lazy, we didn't last long, and we eventually got into the water, but we walked.
We swam what seemed like hours under the hot sun. Patches of my skin was burnt to a crisp, it looked like rain paint was poured down my back. I regret not putting on sunscreen. I close my eyes, the coldness of the water was nice on my sun burned back. The underneath of me was cold but the top was warmed by the heated air and sun. After a while we got a little tired of swimming and we just talked and floated on our backs in the water. It was relaxing. There was a sudden ripple around me.
"I'm gonna go dry off" Lily said, breaking the silence. Then she started walking back to our spot.
"Me too" Maeve said, walking close behind Lily.
"Want to go back too Eli?" Kylie said, clearly getting bored of the water.
"Sure" I say starting to walk back to our spot with Kylie.
When we got back to our spot, everyone just laid in the sun on their phones, except me. I couldn't find my phone.
"Guys, I can't find my phone." I said, clearly silently freaking out.
"Didn't you leave it on your towel?" Maeve said calmly.
"Yeah I did" I said while lifting up my towel. "Oh it was underneath my towel" I said relieved. If I went back home without my phone, I would be screwed.
