"Mom was worried, you didn't come home yesterday." I was pestering Magnus, I was annoyed, angry, confused and upset. "You do realize the people in this house care for you?"

She was ignoring me, classic Magnus.

Our arguments were petty, I knew it, she knew, everyone knew it. Why she wanted to continue the petty arguments was beyond my thinking. I never liked to leave situations unsolved, conversations unfinished; I always did. I decided it was time to stop that, Nate opened my eyes. And if I were not to leave conversations unfinished, I needed to start with Magnus. "I feel like we need to talk-'

"Talk? Talk about what, Venus?"

"We...we need to talk about why you're angry." Magnus made me nervous, I can't be nervous!

"Angry? Your presence just pisses me off." And with that she took her towering plate of food and began to walk away from me.

"Just thought you'd know, Nate is having dinner here tomorrow."

"Cool, I'll make sure I'm not here."

Progress!

I was on my way to class but before I knew it I was being pulled back and leaning against a locker. Warm hands were making their way round my waist and pulling me towards a body. My chest was against his and I could feel his errection on my stomach. Embarassment filtered my cheeks and warm lips placed small kisses on my neck. I wasn't a fan of PDA but if Nate wanted to kiss me in front of everyone, why should I complain?

"Nate!" I giggled.

"I missed you." His hands began to pull at the waistband of my jeans.

"Jesus, Nate...people are looking." I whispered.

"I don't care. I want every guy at this school to know you're mine." He was very territorial but that was one of the main things I loved about him. We had been dating for six months and I was his longest relationship.

"How could anyone possibly not know that?" I said returning the kiss he had given me on my lips. We began to kiss, passionately. Nate pulled me even closer to him so that there was no space between us and he grabbed my ass. I ran my fingers through his gold mane and after a minute or so we pulled apart from one another breathlessly.

"I've been so fucking scared." He said taking my hand and walking me to class.

"Why?"

"Meeting your folks? Tonight!"

"You'll be fine. My Mom will adore you and if you pretend to be interested in my Dad's conversations he'll love you too."

"Will Magnus be there?" He asked.

"Magnus. No, why?" I asked as my body began to tense and I let go of his hand.

"Hey," he held my hand again and shook his head, "she hates me and I'm pretty sure she'd make the night even harder for me. You know, with my reputation and all that past bullshit."

"No, she doesn't want to be there. Which is good. Don't worry she hates me too."

"What happened between you guys?" He asked.

Recalling the fights with Magnus were hard for me. To even think about what she called me was heartbreaking. "She basically called me an easy slut and told me I was stupid for hooking up with fuckboys. God, I'm pathetic." The tears in my eyes were about to flow and I blinked so fast to fight them back. Unfortunately, I lost.
