Imagery poems are whatever you make of them. Basically, you try to use descriptive language to create a picture in the reader's mind. Any poetry terms or poem structures can be used.

Rows and rows of them,

Colorful

Beautiful

Dull

Light

A variety, thick and thin, lined along mahogany shelves.

Silent to us, but whispering words to themselves, telling stories.

Open one, and it will tell it's story to you.

Take you away.

Let you live a different life.

But I can hear them.

Understand their words.

See their beauty.

Thousands of them.

Some ancient, some new.

Inhaling the scent of fresh parchment and ink, I select from the shelves. Old, pages curled and worn, yet soft when I lightly caress them.

Reading, losing myself in the words, the story
