So the tribal leaders aren't going to help me leave until I fix their problems. The problems name is the White Legs. Joshua wants me to help him kill them all off and Daniel wants to abandon his land. What the fuck man. I've been documenting this stuff closely in my journal and I've done a lot of drawings of the landscape and the plants. It's beautiful out here. Arcade would love it. I'm sitting here with Follows-Chalk eating some grilled bighorn for dinner. I'm watching the sun set and wondering what Arcade's doing back in Freeside. I let out a big sigh. "You give off saddened energy. What's wrong?" Chalk asks me.
"I just miss my boyfriend." I say. "He would love this view." I finish.
"You're boyfriend?" He asks.
"Uh, yea. I'm what they call bisexual." I tell him.
"What does that mean?" He asks.
"Well, that means I'm interested in men and women sexually and romantically." I explain.
"Oooh, that makes sense." He says. "What is he like?" He asks.
"He's the most handsome man I've ever met. He's a doctor and he does research for medicines. Er, well, he used to. He's very smart and I can converse with him about things I usually wouldn't be able to." I say, tearing up missing him. I sniffle.
"Aww, don't cry Tony. You'll see him again soon enough." He says and pats my shoulder.
"I bet he doesn't even miss me." I say, shutting down from depression.
"I'm sure he does. Why would he not?" He asks. He got me there.
"I don't know... I'm just paranoid. I'm sure it's okay. I'm sure he's not off with some other guy fucking him. He wouldn't do that." I say, only worrying myself more.
"Why do you worry so much about him? He would not be with you if he did not love you. His heart beats for you, as yours does for him. They beat in rhythm with eachother and therefore you two are never really appart." He tells me. It makes me feel better, even though I don't really buy in to the whole spiritual stuff.
"Thanks for the kind words." I yawn. "Maybe we should turn in for the night. We could camp out in that general store. We should be safe in there since it's 'taboo' or whatever." I suggest.
"That's a good idea. Let's just hope some yao gui don't get us in there. They do not care about taboos." He says. I nod.
"Then we barricade the doors and windows for the night." I get up and stomp the embers of the campfire out and throw my bag over my shoulder.
"You are very smart." He says.
"Thank you." I say back with gratitude. We enter the general store and lay out our bedrolls. We say our goodnights and drift off to sleep.
