The house was huge, with blue shutters that made it look vibrant than it was the first time we saw it. I glanced at the yard, seeing the flowers start blooming. They were beautiful. Purely of different colors, not the simple white. I smiled, feeling the softness of the peddles. My parents spoke to one another, smiling more than ever before. They were finally able to afford their dream home. The home they've wanted since before we were born. My brother and I never imagined that one day we would actually be living here. I wouldn't be for so long though. College is creeping up on me and I will be living in a dorm away from them.

I sighed, low to myself so my parents wouldn't hear. "Hun, come see the renovation inside." My mom waved her hand. I nodded creating a smile on my face. I was happy, most definitely. I was just upset of the thought.

"Wow, it's gorgeous," I said, hearing the echo throughout the house. The walls were a soft beige, with the white stairwell in front of the door. The flooring was all mahogany which created a big pop to it. I loved every single inch of it. I placed the box on the floor. "Is the yard through there? I can't remember."

"Yes, go see the pool. I want to dive right in."

I giggled. "I might just have to if it looks that good."

"Niña, we don't have time for that. You can do it tomorrow when we're more settled. Go look at your room." My mom closed the door behind her. "Shoot, I need to go grab your brother from school. You'll be fine here, right?"

"You know I've stayed alone before. I'm sure I can manage." She slapped my arm playfully, as she ran out. I turned around to see where my dad had gone. I assumed he went to the garage so I paid no mind to him. I placed my ear buds in and began to play Avenged Sevenfold. Full on Beast and The Harlot right now.

I walked upstairs, taking in the beauty of our new home. It looked empty and abandoned. However, soon enough it'll be furnished how my mom wants it to be. Fortunately, I get to design my room, from top to bottom. I looked around, wondering which one was mine. My mom had planned ahead and labeled the rooms to our liking, or what she assumed we might like. I found mine at the end of the hall, next to the guest bathroom.

Walking in, I was amazed with the structure of it. Down to the detail was remarkable. My mom knew me better than I knew myself. I might change the color of the walls but either than that, not too bad. There were boxes on boxes from the movers. My bed frame pushed against the wall, while my mattress leaned sideways on the wall. I rolled my eyes, as I took out my ear buds annoyed by how they left it. I slipped the mattress onto the bed frame, sighing a sigh of relief. I looked around as I brushed the dust off my hands.

The hardest part of this new move was leaving all of my friends behind. I had known most of them since middle school. I never imagined leaving in my senior year. It was tough but I knew my parents were happier leaving behind a small apartment for this new house. I can't complain. I love everything about it. I wish it could have been closer to my school. It's going to be so hard adjusting to this new town.

I opened up the box closest to the window, grabbing a photo of my best friend. Annie made moving so much more difficult. We cried together, we hugged each other, and told each other how much we would miss one another. It's like leaving behind my sister.

I bit my bottom lip, placing the photo on my desk. I looked up from the photo, looking outside my window. A guy stared at me, his hazel eyes catching me off guard. We stared at each other for what felt like an eternity. That is until he realized, he was in nothing more than a towel around his waist. He gave me this amazing smile, as my cheeks began to warm up. I tore my eyes away from him preparing to walk away but before looking over my shoulder one last time. My heart began to beat so rapidly as my palms were sweating, with my cheeks still so warm.

Walking out, I leaned against the door, trying to relax before heading downstairs. I knew no one was going to see me in the state I was in but I wouldn't risk my mom coming home earlier than expected. He was so good looking. I felt myself biting down on my lip. I needed to control myself. Unfortunately, it's my room and I was bound to go back some time. I won't now though.

I walked downstairs, distracting myself from earlier. I helped my mom get things out of the way and in the right place once she came home from picking up Andy. It took hours to get things organized but we eventually got it done with my brother and dad helping out in the backyard. I looked outside the beautiful sunset that created a perfect blue, yellow and purple combination.

"Mija, do you have the utensils that I told you to grab before we left the apartment?" My mom asked as she put plates after plates in the cabinet.

I cringed, "I left them in my car. I'll go get them. Is that all that's in my car?"

My mom took a second. "I think so." I nodded, grabbing my keys off the counter top. "Thank you."

I walked out, as I slid my sweater on. It became a bit chilly than it was earlier. I walked out, pressing on the trunk button so it would pop open. I bent over grabbing either side of the box that had apparently slid all the way in the back. I pushed myself forward, holding onto each side. I sighed with relief, as I balanced the box on my knee while I closed the trunk. I brushed my hair away from my face looking up. He stood there with a smile, as he looked through his mail. I blushed, knowing I was still embarrassed from earlier. I bit down on my lip, feeling my heart start to pound louder. The butterflies started in my stomach once he looked up at me with those beautiful hazel eyes. It was like an electricity I have never felt before. He waved at me, as I stared some more. I cracked a smile, continuing to place pressure on my bottom lip.

Turning around, I almost ran towards the front door. I felt his eyes burning a hole in the back of my head. My entire body started to shake uncontrollably. I've never felt this before, especially not with a guy. Before closing the door, I couldn't help but turn back around once more to look into those eyes. What are the odds of us running into each other outside? I'd say minimum but he's my neighbor so without a doubt, a whole lot.

"Are you okay?" My mom said as she approached me. I hadn't noticed that I was leaning against the door, trying hard to control my breathing. I nodded, not wanting her to ask any further questions. She smiled, "Okay. You looked flushed so that's why I was asking. C'mon. Help me with the rest of the stuff."

I smiled, nodding. She walked towards the kitchen, as I pushed the small curtain to the side to see him still out there. He looked right at me, probably knowing I'd take one last glance like I did upstairs.
