The Sherriff (a play)

   Narrator 1: Once there was two girls working on  farm.

Mary: Come on Lily, hurry up! Dad's going to be here any second!

(Sheriff knocks on door, and Mary rushes to open it.)

Mary: Hi dad, how are you?

Sheriff: Good, How's the farm?

(As talking they walk over to table.)

Narrator 2: They talked for hours and hours, but finally it was time to go to bed.

Narrator 1: The next morning everybody woke up and said their goodbyes.

(Sheriff exits off stage on horse.)

Narrator 2: The girls continued their everyday lives.

(Both girls exit off stage, while sheriff comes on with horse.)

Narrator 1: Meanwhile on the sheriff's way home, he ran into a robber.

Sheriff: Hey, get back here!

Narrator 2: The sheriff chased after him on his horse, and stole the money.

Narrator 1: But, the robber punched the sheriff,and stole the money.

(The sheriff falls to the ground, but gets back up, very confused.)

Sheriff: Where am I? Who's house is this?

(Fairy pops in)

Fairy: This is your house, you're in the future.

Sheriff: How am I in the future?

Fairy: When you were born, I watched over you and gave you a special power to go in the future.

Sheriff: Why me?

Fairy: You were a very good and smart person, and I knew about all the bad things in the future, hoping you could change them.

Sheriff: Cool, so where are are my friends?

Fairy: A guy killed everybody, but you were locked away until everybody was dead,so you couldn't rescue them.

Sheriff: Why did he kill everybody?

Fairy: His Dad was killed in a car crash on the way to the grocery store, and he blames all the people in the world.

Sheriff: How can I change that?

Fairy: Go back and close the store he was going to, so he doesn't die in the car crash.

Sheriff: How do I get back in present time?

Fairy: Follow me.

( Walk off stage together, while girls come on stage and lay down on beds.)

Mary: Lily, wake up! Today you're going to see dad, at his house.

( Mary gives her food and walks off stage.)

Narrator 2: Lily traveled on her horse for hours, and was getting hungry, so she stopped to eat on a big green field right by a river.

Narrator 1: She pulled out some food and then went to rinse in the river. While she was walking, she stepped on something rough, and looked down to a newspaper. She picked it up and on the front page, there was a picture of her dad laying down with his horse.

Narrator 2: She read that the sheriff had died while trying to catch a robber .She went to wash in the river and decided to keep going, so she good clean out his house and talk to the neighbors about it.

Narrator 1: When she arrived, she walked right in the house.

Sheriff: There you are, I was getting worried!

Lily: Dad?

(Lily has a really shocked expression on her face while saying her line.)

Narrator 2: She told him the whole story about the newspaper article, and he told her about the future and the fairy.

Narrator 1: They were both very tired and went to bed. The next morning, Lily went home because she had chores to do, and she said Her and Mary would come up to see him in a month.

Narrator 2: After that, the sheriff closed the store, and everybody lived happily ever after.

(Fairy pops in and says her line.)

Fairy: The End!
