Chapter-1

'Deviyani, make breakfast fast, I have to attend party meeting for election next year and Kanwarsa (father in Rajasthani) also have community meeting today' said Shyam, 'Ji, you come in hall, breakfast will be ready in few minutes' said Deviyani and went to kitchen. In kitchen Vidhya was already preparing breakfast and on seeing Deviyani she put on her ghoongat(vail) saying 'Khamma Ghani Maa' 'Ghani Khamma, is breakfast ready'? 'Ji Maa' 'ok, ask Sukhji(worker in the house) to set table' and she went to hall 'Sukhji, please set the table, here is sugar free tea for Dadosa(grandfather) and protein shake for Rudra Banna( this word is generally used for every person especially younger)' 'Hukam sa' said Sukhji. On dining table, Dhanraj, Shyam, Shubh and .... are already sitting. Deviyani was standing near table with ghoongat and Sukhji come with tea and food for them. Meanwhile Rudra come downstairs and sit joining them. Drinking tea, a smile formed on his face and says 'We got a very caring and gunvanti bahu( daughter-in-law), she take care of everyone here' 'ha dadosa, you are right, Shubh Bhai is very lucky to get Bhabhisa' said Aradhna chuckling. ' Kawarsa, I think now we should look for some girl for Rudra's marriage also' Shyam says to Dhanraj. 'Yes, do you or bindni(daughter in law) have someone in mind' ' No, not yet, I think you should find our daughter in law the same way you found in Shubh's case' 'Yes, I will see, now I'm getting late for community meeting' Everybody stood up except Rudra and everyone was shocked seeing him as it was the first time that anyone remained sitting when Dadosa was standing. 'It's ok, he is nervous, I will go now' said Dhanraj letting the matter go, but till now Rudra was standing embarrassed 'I have to make a call' said Rudra rushing towards his room and everyone laughed on his condition. 'I have meeting now I will leave' said Shyam 'I will also come with you kanwarsa, I have to go office' 'Come' and they both left leaving ladies of house in hall and kitchen, Deviyani and Vidhya sat on table and had their breakfast while Aradhna served them as she already ate with the men.
Dhanraj reaches community hall and get out of his car when he saw a car beside him in which a beautiful girl was sitting talking to a man outside car. He ask his man Ravidan about the man, he says to Dhanraj that he is Rajveer Singh, professor in renowned college and also community member and she is his daughter Shri, she just completed her graduation. 'Ok' he said and start talking about meeting and other issues of society. After end of meeting, he was meeting random people greeting them and then Rajveer also came and met him and said 'Khamma Ghani sa' 'Ghani Khamma' he replies, they talked about random stuff and then he asked about his daughter. He said about his both daughter and asked Dhanraj if he have any one in his consideration for his elder daughter Shri. He said that he himself is finding a daughter in law for his grandson Rudra 'I saw your daughter today and I would like to make her my daughter-in-law' 'Hukam(used for giving respect), it would be pleasure for my family to start a new relationship with you' 'Ok, you talk to your family and let me know' 'Ji Hukam'. With that they left for their houses. 'Aradhna, is Shyam back?' 'Ji Dadosa' 'Call him and everyone in house here' 'Ji' everyone gather in hall, men sat on sofa while ladies were standing there. 'I have seen a girl for Rudra, and talked with her father for the marriage and I want you to show her pictures which her father gave me' Dhanraj said 'Seriously Dadosa, Rudra Bhai is getting married, give me, give me your phone' screamed Aradhna taking his phone 'Wow, Bhabhisa is so beautiful, see Bhai' she forwarded mobile towards Rudra. 'I.. I have important work, I'll go' with that he went to his room and everyone chuckled. 'Bindani, you see pictures and Shyam let me know your opinion' said Dhanraj ' You like it so it is done, we need not to look again' 'Hmm' and he went to his room. Deviyani and Vidhya saw picture 'Maa, she is beautiful, haina(isn't it)?' 'Yes, she is'. After sometime Deviyani went to Rudra's room 'Maa, you want something' 'no, I wanted to talk to you' ' yes tell me' ' Are you happy with this alliance which Babosa( father in law) has brought?' 'Maa..' 'tell me beta or is there someone else?' 'No.. no Maa there is no one but I don't want to marry this soon' ' you are just nervous beta, marriage is very important and this is the right time for this' 'hmm' 'now rest for sometime you are tired' 'ok' and Deviyani left from the room. At night at dining table Dhanraj informs everyone that they said yes for the alliance and Deviyani and Vidhya should go and see her tomorrow ( ok, so this is tradition that only ladies go to see to-be-bride while man can accompany them).
At Singh house
'Maa, Garima everyone come here' said Rajveer  'what happened Rajveer?' Asked Sheetal 'Maa we got proposal for Shri from Dhanraj Rathore's house' 'What!! Are you serious, Dhanrajsa that head of our community?' 'Ji Maa' 'but how?' And then Rajveer narrate the whole incident of morning 'They asked me to reply them if we agree' ' then reply now, we are ready' said Sheetal ' Yes Maa but let us know if Shri is happy' ' what is there to ask her, you know our culture, parents decide marriage of their children' argued Sheetal ' Ha Maa but still we must know if our daughter is happy or not' 'whatever you think' and she left for her room. Later in Rajveer's room 'Garima, you should go and ask Shri about this marriage' 'Ji' 'Well what do you think about this?' 'Ji I'm very happy, I met Deviyaniji once in a marriageceremony and she was really nice' 'even I think it would be good, you go and ask Shri' 'Ji' and there she goes to Shri's room. 'Beta, kaha ho aap?'(where are you?) ' Ji Maa coming' 'Yes Maa any problem' 'No beta, sit here, do you have any problem with the alliance?' 'Ji?' ' do you want this marriage?' 'I.. I'm not sure Maa, whatever you think is right' 'well beta, they are good people, and the boy himself is good and educated, I and your Papa like him, I think they are perfect for you' 'hmm' 'any problem beta?' 'Wo Maa actually I don't want to marry this soon, I m just 22' 'oh that, I think Shri, this is the best age to get married, me, your Nanisa (maternal grandmother), your Dadisa (paternal grandmother) everyone gets married in this age, this is the RIGHT age beta' 'Ji Maa' 'so, should I consider your yes for this alliance' 'hmm' said Shri looking down shyly, Garima kissed her forehead and went to her room and said Rajveer about Shri's YES to the alliance and then Rajveer called Dhanraj to ask them to come and see their daughter Shri.
