"He seems like a nice boy," Charlie says as he emerges from behind me.
"Dad, I am not going to date him," I groan. "Besides, he is younger than me. I think back to the conversation Jake and I had only moments ago. "He's fifteen, I'm seventeen."
"Oh come on Bella. Stop being a push over." I scowl at him not because he said something inaccurate, but because he stated a fact. I am a pushover. "He is a nice kid. He has never done anything bad. And you think he is cute. I could see the look on your face when you saw him-"
"Dad! I don't think he is cute! Now stop embarrassing me."
I craw into bed, with Jake fluttering through my head. I want to see his smile again. I want to feel his dark skin. I just want to see him once more tonight. I think about him till sleep clames me for its own.
Tap!
I immediately sit straight up in my bed. What was that? I' m sure it was just the house settling.
Tap!
There it is again. I could tell the tapping was coming from my window.
I slip on some shoes and slowly walk over to the window, still groggy with sleep. I get to the window and turn the latch till it clicks. I push the window open to where it admitted a loud Creeeekkk!
"Jake!" I try not to sound to excited at his sudden appearance in my front lawn. "What are you doing?"
"I wanted to see if you were liking your room. And i just wanted to see you again." He says sheepishly.
