A young girl with blonde hair ran on a board walk over water. Her village was a hut styled and most of them were on the shore, but some huts were over the water. Vikings ran past her towards the fight with the dragons that were tearing up everything in their path. She ran with tears in her eyes from being so afraid of the destruction behind her, but she was stopped by purplish pink colored spikes that were being fired in front of her. They started out as an almost liquid, but quickly hardened into a spiked up position. She fell on her butt because she tried to stop to fast. She was now at the foot of the spikes. Looking at the spikes closer she saw a glow in the center that got bigger and brighter. They exploded into tiny spikes that launched in every direction. The spikes went into her skin and began to burn, but she tried to stay calm.
Through the dust from the explosion appeared the famous Toxic Strike. It used its long wings as legs to creep forward with a smooth tail for balance. Its body was small and a pale purple, with four small legs that had three claws on each of them. The tail had dark barbs that were diamond shape. The veins on the wings were a dark purple with the webbing a vivid pink. Its head was quite small and pointy with the spikes on its head resembling the ones from the explosion. This beautiful beast creeped toward the young girl showing its sharp teeth. The girl could barely move due to the stinging/ burning of the spikes.
Suddenly, with a whoosh of air, an arrow hit the dragon in the shoulder and was enough for it to stumble over off its wings. It looked at the arrow and sneered at the shadow of a hut where it came from.
With a flash of a Nadder's fire the figure was shown. He had a long blue sleeved jacket with black shirt and pants. A quiver around his shoulder, holding many arrows. His bow pointed towards the dragon with a metal guard against the wood bow. He also wore tan boots with rope wrapped around them. His eyes were as bright as an emerald due to the bright blast.
(Sorry, not the best at drawling people. )
"Claws off." He let the arrow fly towards the dragon who got back on its wings and tail and hopped out of the way. As he was grabbing another arrow the dragon grabbed the arrow in its shoulder and pulled it out and snapped it by crunching down on it. It sent out a small blast towards the teen that rolled out of the way, but then he hid behind a barrel as the blast exploded. He got back up and saw the surrounding area was covered in poison spikes, then pulled another arrow back and shot it at the dragons feet, which made it jump back. The dragon fired another blast, but missed and exploded into a cloud of dust.
He ran up to the little girl in the cover of the dust cloud and pulled her to her feet, "Time to go!" He ran through the battle field which was also the center of the town, that was on a beach. Jumping over the barrels and destroyed building remains, with the sound of the Toxic Strike roaring behind them, he also had to dodge the constant blast from the dragons that were attacking. They reached a house on the edge of the center and he banged on the door.
An old man opened the door with a grey beard and a horned helmet. "Attacked by the Toxic Strike," he said handing the little girl to him who quickly took her to a bed to deal with the spikes. He grabbed a bucket of water and rags, then rang out the wet rag over the spikes and they dissolved into a sparkly purple water that he quickly wiped away. "She'll be fine, go and to your thing Ail." he looked back at him and winked.
Ail turned around to a bright purple blast flying at his face, quickly reacting by slamming the door shut and getting close to the ground by bending his knees. He felt the impact from the blast hitting the door as it pushed him back for a moment. Then grabbing an arrow he looked back at the old man who was already walking back to him. He grabbed the door handle as Ail took a step back with his elbow up ready to fire. He nodded and he opened the door.
Without aiming he released the arrow knowing who would be waiting for him and just like he thought the Toxic Strike whipped its tail around and hit the arrow out of the air. Ail ran out the door and hit the dragon on the head with the metal side of his bow over and over until it jumped back. It then spiked up it's tail and whipped it around trying to hit him with it. He jumped over it, but the barbs caught his coat and threw him into a stack of barrels.
The Toxic Strike flapped its wings and got off the ground and fired around the fallen barrels. The spikes glowed brighter until they exploded destroying the outside barrels and covering the rest in spikes. The dragon landed on its legs and spread its wings in joy.
One of the barrels that was in the center that was now covered in spikes started rolling on its own until the bottom was kicked off and Ail crawled out of it. He pulled an arrow back and released it at the dragon who took off and flew towards him. He ducked down to the ground, barely missing it's claws, but he had an arrow in his hand and he stuck it in the dragons foot. The Toxic Strike flew past him and shook the loose arrow out of its leg, then continued flying away.
It began to spin and evade knowing what came next, arrows flew by it's head as Ail let them fly. It turned around with a roll and dove towards the sea side village, mouth open, blast charged. A fleeing family saw it diving and began to panic, screaming, but they had nowhere to go. Ail saw and had to think quick, so he pulled back an arrow and released it at the dragon.
The Toxic Strike let its ray go, but the arrow hit it mid air and exploded it making the blast go back into it's mouth. It flipped over its self and crashed right beside Ail who casually stepped aside to let it crash. He looked back to the family and they seemed very impressed, but the cloud of dust from the crash quickly dissipated to show an even madder Toxic Strike. On all fours, its eyes narrowed at the sight of Ail, looking like it was ready to strike at the slightest movement, but it had other plans.
They both had a stare down as Ail pulled back an arrow, the string inch's from his face. "Why don't we just end this here old friend? He asked in a chill tone, you'd be making me look good. The dragon didn't flinch. He rolled his eyes and let go of the string, aiming it at it's head. The dragon put on a small smirk as it let a small blast fly directly at the arrow. The two collided as soon as the arrow left the string destroying the arrow and setting off the crystal blast in Ail's face.
He fell to the ground in pain of the stinging burning feeling of the spikes on his face. The Toxic Strike creeped towards him but was stopped by the sun rising and all the other dragons leaving. It took off but opened its mouth to aim at Ail, its eye narrowed, waiting for this moment for to long. Ail looked at the dragon with fear and regret, he covered his face for impact.
Ail heard the dragon roar in pain and looked back to it to see it had an arrow in its side. It looked to the shooter, but fled. The archer was behind the teens and aimed at the dragon as it flew away. They put down their bow and put the arrow back in their quiver.
They walked out of the shadows and showed that it was a women in her 40s with bright blond hair and green eyes. She wore a dark green skirt and fur cape with a tan shirt. She walked over and stood over Ail. Son, we need to talk.
Hello and welcome to my new fanfic! I'm doing something different for this one, if you couldn't tell this is a little "darker" and more action packed, cant wait to tell this story! But something I'd like to ask you is did you get the implication that these two know each other well enough to know what the other is going to do? Did they have a good back and fourth? :)
