As the sound of my English teachers voice becomes more and more inaudible I could sense myself drift off into another world, leaving the present. Instantly, I'm ripped from my safe Haven, a place known as your self conscious by the sound of a peers voice. "Hey, wake up, the period just ended." Nudged Nick. I could feel my face turn a Rosey red, my hand begins to tremble, my pulse increases, whilst I my body temperature increases. "I wonder if he noticed, I honestly don't know what's been up with me, I've been feeling quite odd around Nick." I said to myself while simultaneously replying to Nick with a sigh followed by "Damn, we now have Math, I hate this class."
To my surprise we had a substitute. While we of course were told to sit in our assigned seats, no one did, after all, it was a substitute, no one cared. I of course sat right next to Nick, after all we were pretty good friends, and nothing more. "Hey, Nick, you free this Friday?" I asked. "Yeah, why? What's up?" He replied. "Well, I don't know, maybe we could watch the game at my house, my parents are out of town this week, you know damn well I've got the booze." I said. "Oh hell yeah, I'm fit." Nick said with a facial expression... One he's made many times, but this time, it was different, the way he cocked his eyebrow just seem unusual, I couldn't exactly put my finger on it.
Later that week when Friday finally rolled around I texted Nick to confirm we're still on for this weekend. He replied saying "Yeah, I'll be there around 7." This excited me... Not the usual excitement you get when hanging out with a friend. This excitement quickly turned into me being anxious and nervous. I needed to come clean with my emotions. "Am I attracted to Nick? Do I love Nick?" I asked myself. No, I couldn't possibly, we're friends! Or could I...?
