"Oh my gosh mom, you are being delusional! I will be fine! Listen, I get good grades, have a good job, I don't drink or do drugs. Let me go to this party this one time! Please?" This was the last thing I thought would happen. Usually my mom is easy going with allowing me to go places and hang out with friends, but this time it was like she wanted to put up a fight.
"I said no Emma, and no means no." With that, she walked up the stairs and into her bedroom. I stood there for a minute until I walked up to my bedroom. I decided to take a chance and make the choice of sneaking out to the party later tonight. So around 10, the house was silent and I decided that now is my chance. I snuck down the stairs quietly and went to the back door, once I got out I texted my friend to come pick me up. Now before you go and stereotype me to the average teenage girl who sneaks out every night to party with my friends, stop right there. I have never been to an actual high school party and never wanted to. I decided that I mine as well go since my friends were begging me to come and convinced me it would be a blast. Right then, I saw a bright light flash in my eyes as my friends Prius came into view. I ran across the grass to the passenger door as she unlocked it.
"I'm glad you could make it Emma."
"I'm glad I could make it too."
It was about a 5 minute drive from my house to the party. When we got there, there was only parking 2 blocks away. I got out of my heels and decided to carry them until we got to the party house. By the time we got there it was a half an hour later, but I was glad I was there. I just took in the surroundings around me; the drunks, the couples, and the stoners. This was definitely an area I am not used to. As my friend dragged me through the doors, boys checked us out, head to toes. Lexy, my friend, didn't seem to mind since she was a pro at this whole party thing. She has been going to party's since her freshman year.
"What do you drink?" Lexy screamed over the music.
"Um, I'll have whatever you're having." I only said this because I've never drank and didn't want to look like an idiot.
"Okay, but just to warn you, I like it strong." Lexy gave a mumbled laugh and handed me my drink. I took a sip at the same time she did and as the alcohol trickled down my throat I could feel the burning sensation. It was like nothing I have ever tasted before. I coughed a bit and swallowed because the after taste was absolutely awful. After I got used to the taste of my drink and the many people Lexy dragged me into the middle of a crowd to dance to the loud music blaring throughout the house. I got quite giggly and tipsy after I lost count of the number of drinks I had. Soon I began to grind up against Lexy and dance seductively catching a pair of green eyes staring at me. Not that I could see that well, but what I could see was a messy mop of brown, curly hair, a muscular figure leaning against one of the door walls, a tattooed body with piercing eyes staring right at me biting his bottom lip. I looked away from the boy and focused on my dancing, but before I knew it, I looked back in his direction and he was right in front of me.
"Hi, I've never seen you around here..."
"Uh yeah I don't come to parties often."
"Obviously, or I would've remembered you." The boy was still staring into my eyes, beginning to get uncomfortable. He grabbed my wrist and turn me around so that my back was facing him. He began grinding on me and I jerked my body and wrist away from him quickly.
"Who do you think you are?! You can't just go around grabbing girls!" I stormed away after my small fit. Before I got very far I felt someone grab my wrist.
"Seriously, what is up with the grabbing of the wri-" I turned around to see a blue eyed blonde with a lip piercing looking at me and pulling his hand off my wrist.
"Oh my gosh, I'm sorry. I just wanted to make sure you're okay, Harry can be kind of an asshole sometimes."
"Yeah, obviously. Thank you though, um, what's your name?"
"Oh, Luke. My name's Luke. And yours is?"
"Emma. Nice to meet you Luke, but I think I'm going to get out of here, thanks again."
"Yeah, no problem, anytime. See you around." Luke gave me a gentle smile and I turned around to leave this party. I could say that I had fun until I met or saw green eyes, what's his name, Harry. Going to parties would be fine as long as douchebags like Harry didn't bother me.
The weird thing about Harry though was that when my eyes meet his gaze as we were standing there staring at each other, time stopped. Those eyes were piercing mine, and I can swear at that moment he sensed the real me.
