Chapter 12

I entered the hospital and stopped for a while as I tried to take a breath. Yeah I was running as fast as I could to here. The unknown number told me to wait at the entrance. I sighed. I don't even know the person's face and how the hell I want to find that person. Okay, relax.. Don't panic Eunmi.

Then, someone tapped my shoulder. I quickly turn my head as I was startled by it. "Are you Eunmi?" . "Ne..." . I was only looking at the person, she looks like a woman around my parents age. Wait, how did she know my name? 

"Eunmi-ssi? Are you okay?" her voice interrupts my thought. "Is there something wrong in my face?" She asked. "Ah, no.." I replied. I guess I stared at her for too long.

"Ah, we don't have much time left. Let's go and follow me." She told me. "Ah, Y-yes." I obeyed.

She stopped at a room number 769. I quickly entered the room and my heart beats faster than usual. I saw eomma lying on the bed with full of bandages all over her body. I walk slowly towards her. My eyes start to tear up.

"E-Eomma."

"Eomma...." My tears start to roll down. "J-just w-what happened to y-you?" I stuttered and hold her hand.

My eyes landed on the woman who quietly standing at the corner.

- At Hospital's Cafeteria -

Both of us silence. I'm still confused about earlier. Did she got into an accident? Or did she fall? but her condition looks worse. "Who are you?" I ask finally break the ice.

"Umm.. Sorry, I didn't introduce myself." The woman answered. I just looked at her and still wondering about how did she know me. "My name is Park Hyo Jin, I am your mother's colleague and actually we've been friends since high school." She said.

After she introduce herself and told me that she was my mother's friend, I guess I could trust her. "How.. did you know about me then?" I asked. "Ah.. Your mother always told me about you. Ever since her pregnancy until now.. she always compliment at how cute, lovely and beautiful you are." She giggled. Damn, that's embarassing. Guess I'm blushing right now.

"Do you know what happened to her?" I asked tried to change the topic and been curious at the same time. "Actually...-"

Flashback

-Hyo Jin's POV-

"Aigoo.." I sighed while stretching myself.

"Hyo Jin-ah.."

I looked at the person. "What do you want?"

"Let's go and drink."

"Huh? Why? That's too sudden." I said which quiet shocked that she invite me to drink. Yup, she.

"You've done your work right? Come on." She whined. "You are not a drinker, Taemi." I told her and obviously she pouted. "I'm craving it...." She said. "Pfft.. Are you pregnant or what? Are you okay? Is there something wrong?" I asked. She remained silenced. I sighed.

"Fine, Let's go."

"Yah, gwaenchanha?" I looked at her in concern. "You've already drink 5 bottles." I said while put away the bottles. "I...want more." She mumbled. "No, just stop it." I tried to stop her.

She kept silenced.

Suddenly, her tears start to fall down her cheeks. Of course I was shocked. "T-Taemi.. Please tell me what happened." I begged.

"W-Why..." She said.

I only look at her waiting for her to said more. "Why.. did he leave me?" She finally look at me in the eyes. I gulped. "H-He?" I ask disbelief. It can't be. "Does he not like me anymore? Why would he do this?!" She yelled. All the people around us looked at us. I apologized. "Yah, what do you mean? Is it Eun Hyung?" . She only stare at me.

"Did he cheat on you?"

"....."

"Hey, answer me."

"What if I said..... yes?" She said as her tears rolling down heavily. "I don't want him to leave me and Eunmi... L-Like my dad did." She stuttered.

I've known her since high school and that time her father left her family for another woman. God knows how much she suffered. I thought she finally found her happiness when she met Eun Hyung. Aishhh... How could Eun Hyung do this to her?

"How did you know about this?" I asked, hesitant at first. "He... could be obvious sometimes... come home late at night with a messy hair and shirt." She said. "I could saw some hickeys too.." She added.

"He didn't love me anymore."

I just kept silenced. I don't know what to say.

"Eunmi... always ask about her father like 'where's appa?'." She said while fidgeting her fingers. "What should I do?" How do I need to a-answer that? I d-don't Eunmi to get hurt. I want her to smile and be happy." She stuttered. "I think you guys need to talk." I finally said.

"I mean... between you and Eun Hyung."

She stopped crying. Everytime I tried to talk to her, she didn't respond and keep staring at the floor. I sighed. "Wait here, I'll go and paid these." I said to her.

"Ne, Kamsahabnida."

"Taemi, Let's go."

"See you! Be careful while crossing!" I yelled. She smiled weakly and nodded. "Gomawo Hyo Jin! Goodbye.." She yelled.

As soon as I entered my car...

BAM

I get out of my car. Is there an accident? I came closer. I gasped and my eyes become teary.

"Taemi-ah!"
