It was the summer of 1990, I, starlight umbra, am waiting for an owl to arrive with a letter from hogwarts. While I wait I will tell you some things about my life and family. I am a half-blood which means that my father is a pure-blood wizard and my mother is a muggleborn witch. My father is part of the death eaters, they are supporters of lord Voldemort. He fought in the first wizarding war. A few things about myself is that I want to become a death eater. And that I like to read books.
I then heard a hoot. The family owl named Orion flew in from the window and dropped the letter onto my hands. I gave Orion an owl treat. Then I opened the letter and read it. I was very excited "MOM I JUST RECIEVED A LETTER FROM HOGWARTS SAYING THAT I GOT ACCEPTED!" I yelled.
"That's great, me and your father will take you to Diagon alley next week!" My mother yelled back at me. I then started searching for my father to tell him about the letter . I had no idea where he is until I entered the house library which was in the basement. I then heard people arguing. I went closer and saw my father with a guy with long whiteish blondish hair who was definitely Lucius Malfoy. Then I decided to eavesdrop them.
"THEN WHY DID YOU MARRY A MUDBLOOD!" Lucius Malfoy said to my father.
"MALFOY, HOW DARE YOU CALL MY WIFE THAT. I DIDNT KNOW SHE WAS A MUGGLEBORN! AND I LOVE HER!" my father says in a really angry voice.
"Ugh, I'm leaving." Lucius Malfoy said, then standing up.
Wait.. why am I here again? Oh yeah I was going to tell him that I received my hogwarts acceptance letter.
"Well hello there Starlight."
I looked up and saw Lucius Malfoy.
"Hello Mr. Malfoy." I replied, I was shaking.
"I see that you received your hogwarts letter, your father will be pleased." Malfoy says.
"Yes, I'm going to show it to him right now."
" Good luck then." He said and he left.I don't know if he was being sarcastic or something else. I really can't tell. I walked up to my father.
"Hey father, um, I just received my ,um, hogwarts acceptance letter,um, I told mother about it and um she told me that um we will be going to um Diagon alley next week." I said very nervously. Why did I say um so much? And why am I nervous? What is life anyways?
"I'm so proud of you. I hope you will be in Slytherin." My father said.
"Yeah.. I hope.." I said.

Author's note: I hope that you like the first chapter and there are a few things that you need to know. First of all I will be following the original Harry Potter storyline but there will be some adjustments to it. Because Starlight (the main character) is a year older than Harry so Starlight's first year of hogwarts will have an Defence Against the Dark Arts that I will create because that job is cursed. So yeah. Sorry if the authors note sounded very confusing, my grammar is trash and I'm really tired. Next chapter is Starlight going to diagon alley. Oh and btw I was having a hard time making up a last name so I went on the internet and decided that Umbra sounds like an evil type. And yes I'm using my persona/ OC or whatever the f she is because I can. Also, this is my first actual attempt of writing a story so it might suck. A lot. And I also spent a week or 2 writing this.
