Chapter 2

That night Eddie went home and called Richie, Mrs. Tozier picked up "Hello?" the other end of the phone chimed.

"Hey! It's Eddie...is Richie there?" Eddie asked, he waited for a second, hearing a muffled yell and someone else answers the phone "Spaghetti!" Richie exclamied.

Eddie rolled his eyes "Don't call me that Rich." He said quietly into the phone.

"Uh, anyways, I was wondering if you wanted to go to the fair with me tomorrow at...4 maybe..." Eddie asked slowly as he twirled the cord on the phone in his fingers like a girl would do who was talking to their crush or best friend.

"Yea! Sure. Totally!" Richie said smiling "Ok...see you there! And don't be late!" Eddie said kinda sternly.

"Ok, see ya Eds." He said hanging up as he heard "Don't call me th-" the phone call ended and Eddie put the phone down and sighed, going up to his room to study for a test.

Eddie stood at the front of the fair and waited for what felt like hours for Richie, he waited, and waited, and waited, and soon he convinced himself that Richie was a no go. He walked into the fair and played a couple games before- "Eddie!!!" He heard it and looked around quickly, he smiled once he saw Mike, Ben and Bev along with Stan walking twords him.

Eddie ran over "Hey guys!" He looked down "I was supposed to be coming here with Richie but-" Bev cut him off "He didn't come!? He didn't come!? That motherfu-" Stan quickly cut her off "It's okay we'll be here with you don't worry." He said putting an arm around Eddie and holding him close as they walked around, occasionally playing games.

Eddie stopped for a second "Anyone want giant cotten candy?" He asked pointing over to a booth with Blue and Pink treats.

"Yes!" Mike said walking over Eddie pulled out some money "I'll pay." He said.

"No! You were last to pay I'll pay this time." Ben said pulling out his own money and paying for it "Thanks Ben." Eddie said taking his and sitting on a bench, Bev sat next to him and Stan sat on the other side, everyone laughed as they talked and joked around.

Soon the 5 losers walked out of the fair, everyone got on their bikes instead of Eddie "Uh..I didn't ride here, I'll walk home." Eddie said quietly and started walking.

"No! Ride on the back of my bike, we were gonna watch a movie, you can come!" Stan offered quietly. Eddie shrugged and got onto Stan's bike with him and wrapped his arms around his waist and rested his head on his back. They started riding down the street slowly, starting to pick up pace.

What Eddie didn't notice is that it was 5 and Richie was Riding his bike on the side walk next to him, Richie looked over at the boy holding onto Stan as the street light eliminated his features. Richie knew it, he blew it. 'are Stan and Eddie dating? Seems like it...' Played over and over in Richie's mind. 'wait he didn't say 5!?' also popped up occasionally.

Everyone sat at Stan's house watching a movie. A couple people fell asleep actually, Bav had to leave, Mike had the do work at the farm and Ben had to study for the test the next day. Eddie fell asleep curled up into Stan's side.

The next day at School Eddie stood at his locker looking around for Richie to ask why he wasn't there at the Fair on time. Soon Richie bounded over to Eddie slowly "I'm so sorry Ed's...I thought you said to come at 5! I'm really sorry and I hope you aren't too mad at me-" Richie rambled

"It's fine, at least it wasn't like when you didn't even come to the library at all." Eddie mumbled, crossing his arms as he speaked.

"I'm really sorry." Richie said pulling Eddie into a hug. Eddie hugged back, soon Stanley walked over "Eddie! Come on." He said pulling Eddie away from Richie's reach and walking to class, as they walked Stan put an arm around Eddie and Eddie rested his head on Stans shoulder.

Richie stared, feeling his heart slightly break "Guess...guess maybe they are...I'll just ask him after school." He mumbled to himself and walked to class alone.

~Meanwhile~
"Stan why are you so protective over me?" Eddie asked as they sat down at their desks.

Stan leaned over and whispered "Because, I want you to feel happy, you know if you make another plan with him he'll be late again." He sat back once the teacher walked in.

"Oh, right..." Eddie said quietly as he stared to take notes in off the board.

At lunch Eddie sat next to Bev "I need to talk to you..." He said quietly. "Okay what is i-" Bev was pulled out of her seat and pulled to where nobody could see them.

"I think I like Richie...." Eddie said quietly "Well that's not surpri-" Bev was cut off "And Stan." Eddie finished, taking a deep breath and using his inhaler.

"Wait what!? Well why do you like Stan?" Bev asked leaning against the wall.

"He was just..there for me when Richie wasn't and...I don't know!" Eddie said putting his palms up.

"How do I deal with this?" Eddie asked quietly.

"I can try my best to help..." Bev replied, pulling Eddie into a hug.
