4. Hospital

"Okay, great. Go get the house keys, Ash.," he said. Oh.. I don't remember where they are..

"Uhm.. I don't know where they are.." I said quietly.. This is great. Can this day get any worse? No, I don't think so. Ashton, you are so smart. You don't even remember where your house keys are.

"Really? Ash, we have to hurry. Think, okay?" He said. Oh trust me, I'm thinking.

I remember Emmy taking the keys with her.. Oh, Emmy took them.. We've only got one house key, because I lost mine. This is so annoying. What am I gonna do now?

"U-Uh.. Emmy has the house key.." I said. Great.

"Well, that's good. Just call her and say that you need them. Problem solved." He sounded relieved. Well Calum, you won't sound relieved in a minute.

"I-I can't," I said.. I wish I could, but life isn't easy, is it? No.

"C'mon Ash, why can't you call Emmy?" He asked me. Shall I tell him, or not? I think I'm going to tell him. He's like my brother and he'll find out sooner or later, won't he?

"S-she was i-in t-the accident.." I cried.. Okay Ashton, keep calm. You've said it some of it now.

"Wait, What? Why was she with Luke?" He asked curiously. So the first thing he asks is why she was with Luke.

"S-she wasn't.." I said.. Wait, what if she was with Luke? Why didn't I think of that? Well, I'll just explain what I think happened.

"Hang on, I'm so confused.." He said. Well, of course you're confused Calum. I'm standing right I front of you, crying and saying that my girlfriend has been in the same car accident as Luke. I don't think you couldn't be confused. This is the most confusing thing ever.

"T-this is confusing.."

I just wish that I could rewind this day. I shouldn't have started talking about her friends. If I didn't do that, everyone would've been happy and safe right now. Luke and Emmy wouldn't have been victims of a car crash.

"Let's just go and see what's happened, yeah?" He said, trying to sound calm. Well that doesn't help. I can't be calm. I'm never ever calm. It doesn't matter if I'm happy, sad or mad. I'm just never calm. That's Ashton Irwin and I'm not going to change him.

"I-I haven't got any keys.."

"We'll worry about that later. C'mon," He said and dragged me out of the apartment. Let's just hope no one'll try to break in.

We went out of the building and stepped inside Calum's car, then drove to the hospital.

When Calum had parked the car, we quickly ran into the hospital.

"Okay, Ash, you can do this..." I silently whispered to myself. I sure hope I can do this..

"Who do you want to meet first?' Calum asked me. Emmy popped into my head. Of course I want to see Emmy first. What if she's dead right now? What if I'll never see her again after this? What if- okay.. Emmy it is.

"Emmy."

"Okay, sure."

We walked over to the front desk and Calum said,

"We'd like to meet Emmy Jacksson, please." I don't know if I'm ready for this. I know I'm not ready for this.

"I'm sorry, but you can't meet Ms.Jacksson right now. She needs to rest," She said, with sympathy in her voice. Yeah, that's fine. That's cool.
