Prologue.
My heart ached at the thought of not being able to do what I most desired. My father didn't approve of the bond that we had made and it was taking it's toll on both of us. The pain was almost unbearable as it spread throughout my body, as if it were a virus. My bones felt as though they were breaking into little individual shards and my blood felt as though it was lava. I fell over, crippled by the pain that I felt and looked over to where he was. His eyes bore into mine and I could see the pain that coursed in them.
To human onlookers, it must have looked like we were dying. To those of the same species, they knew we were. Having to deny the pull that we felt would take all of our strength, and considering neither wanted too do it, it was going to be harder. But we didn't have a choice. We were being forced too by the Alpha. Sometimes, people can stand up to their Alpha and leave, choosing to be with the one they love instead of staying in the pack. However, since the Alpha also happened to be my father, I couldn't do that too him. I couldn't break his heart more than I already had.
One word ran through out both of our minds and a silent tear fell down my cheek as he reached for my hand.
