It's the summer before freshman year at her new school. She is nervous about being the new girl in school, but that's not the only think she has to worry about in life. Jenn has a rough life at home, her mom is an alcoholic, her sister is recovering from cancer, and she doesn't have a good bond with her father. Not to mention her parents argue about everything. They talk about getting a divorce and that's is the last thing she needs right now is for her parents to split. Jenn isn't the best with school, life, or boys. That's until she unexpectedly meets a boy that really likes her but she isn't ready for another relationship just yet. She just broke up with her boyfriend, who she thought was her dream guy but turned out to be just like the rest of the guys she has dated over the years. Jenn just wants to get threw everything else in her life right now. Except the boy won't give up on Jenn he wants to help her on her journey but she thinks he will just be a distraction. Jenn tells him she isn't worth it and that he could find someone that wouldn't mess his life up like she could.
