Chapter 22

Akash pov

1 week later............

"where is Riya ? " i asked mom  as soon as i entered in my parents house, "  still the same" she said in low voice " she had not altered a word only gives nod,  i made her eat and  sleep a few minutes ago"  mom told me, her eyes filling with tears.

I sigh and hugged her " we should give her time" i said to mom "it's already been 1 week, I'm worried about her health" she said looking at me

"ill go check up on her"  with that said i moved toward her room.

Opening the door i saw a small fragile figure curled on the bed.

I sat beside her slightly brushing my fingers on her cheeks,  i could clearly see her tear stricken face.

Right now Riya is staying with mom since i and dad were busy with last ritual of grandma, and i know she needs motherly comfort right now.

Its been a week and Riya was the same. she had not spoken a word,  only crying herself to sleep,  she hardly had a proper meal . Closing my eyes, i took a deep breath

I was above to leave when i heard Riya's voice "Akash" i looked down at her " go back to sleep Riya, i just came to check on you"  i told her stroking her hair.

Her eyes were red and swollen from all the crying she had done,  her overall face was pale gently running my fingers through her hair i trace my fingers under her eyes.

A knock on the door startled Riya, we both looked at the door

"Riya, good that you are awake.  Why don't you both join me and your papa outside to get some fresh air? " mom said coming into the room.

She smiled at Riya"  Riya please join us you will feel better "

Nodding slightly Riya got up. Mom left us alone.

I helped Riya out of bed, and told her to get fresh then we'll go together. 

She didn't said anything just went to washroom.

I sat on edge of bed thinking how to bring her smile again, i should take her out I thought.

Soon Riya came out her face looked fresh now but was still red due to crying.

Standing up i went towards her,

"Shall we go Riya? "i asked her tucking some strands which were falling on her face. 

" yes" she whisper.

Right now me, Riya, mom and dad we all were sitting outside in lawn.

As we were taking sips of coffee,  dad looked at Riya,

"Riya,  you like reading why don't you explore some of the books from my library "dad said to Riya

" yes Riya dad has very good collection in his library you will enjoy it".

Riya looked at dad and nodded her head " i will papa"  she said. 

"Riya " dad said again" you know my daughter-in-law  has a beautiful smile"

"you know i read in one of the book that those who have left this world don't go anywhere they remain with us like shadow"

" so you're grandma is with you and right now she must be sad looking at you, remember how happy she was last time you met her"

Riya nodded vigorously tears running down her eyes " she always wanted you to be happy"

" Yes, papa ma always wanted to see me happy, i will fulfill her wish"

"That's like my Riya" mom said with a big smile
