Sanju:expected to be released on June 29

Sanju is an upcoming Indian biopic based on the life of Indian actor Sanjay Dutt played by Ranbir Kapoor. It is written and directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Ranbir Kapoor played the role of Sanjay dutt so nicely in various stages of his life. A short official teaser of the film first launched on 24th April 2018. The official trailer was launched later on 30May 2018. However, the film is expected to be released on 29thy June 2018.

In the trailer, Ranbir kicks off by saying "Itna variety wala life apko kidhar milega". There were variety of dialogs in the trailer which proclaims that the movie is going to rock. One dialog is "main tharki hu, bewdaa hu, drug addict hu...par terrorist nahi hu". Another one is "Maine pehli baar drugs liye kyunki main dad se naraaz tha, Doosri baar kyunki maa bimaar thi, Teesri baar tak main drug addict ban chuka tha". Ranbir nailed the role as if he is original Sanjay Dutt. Going by the trailer, the character seems to have no qualms in speaking about his personal life, including the number of affairs he has had. From his jail sentence to a career filled with hits and misses, the trailer covers the whole note of Sanjay Dutt's life, mainly through three stages, during his drug addict phase, his many love affairs, and during the phase of his life when he went to jail under TADA case.

Ranbir requested about a month's time to transform himself after every new look of Sanjay Dutt. Before the release of trailer he told that it was difficult for him to look like the muscular as he was on thinner side. Ranbir's father Rishi Kapoor also revealed that Ranbir took around 6-7 weeks to get fit in each different looks of Sanjay. Hirani said "I first thought of Ranbir and went straight to him and I can tell you, we were right". He stated that Ranbir Kapoor is a fantastic actor of his age. He also revealed that Ranbir worked so hard to get the correct physicality of Sanjay, spending days watching all the films and videos of him to strike the right balance.

The movie also features Paresh Rawal as Sanju's father Suneel Dutt, Manisha Koirala as Sanjay Dutt's mother Nargis, Vicky Kaushal as his best friend. Also among the cast are Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza, Jim Sarbh and Boman Irani. Shooting for the film began on 12 January 2017 with Ranbir Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Dia Mirza and other cast and crew.
