Alicia Boulder was the new girl at school.
Usually, all of the other boys in my grade would fan over her like she's some sort of goddess...
But it's the middle of the year, and she's just arrived. The middle of the year.
Who sends their child to a new school in the middle of the year?
Okay, maybe that's normal. Maybe I'm just trying to find a reason to hate her...
Or, like her?No.
Neither.
I have strange feelings about Alicia.
She smiles funny, her teeth are perfect and straight, and I can't tell if that is from braces or not. However, she covers her mouth when she smiles, as if she's going to release some sort of secret by mistake.
She wears dark clothing.
I knew from the start the teachers were going to hate her. Defying the dress code like that is a serious offence, but she somehow manages to get away with it, as if she's paying the school just to wear the depressing fabrics.
The dress code.
God, I hate this world. Absolutely despise it.
Things changed, yeah, 'for the better' back in 2030, after World War III. The government promised safety and sanctuary. By that, they'd kept everyone in order. Everyone in the area goes by their day on the account of a goddamn buzzer. There are possibilities of arrest if a person does not go by the buzzer.
Buzzer no. 1- wake up, get up, get dressed.
No. 2- eat breakfast
No. 3- students head to school, parents go to work.
No. 4- recess/smoke break
No. 5-back in classes/back to work
No.6- lunch recess/lunch break
No.7- end of school
No. 8- end of work
No. 9- eat dinner
No.10- students finish homework, adults finish work.
No.11- go to bed
Maybe it was the way Alicia seemed to be rebelling against the entire government which was dangerous, yet intriguing at the same time... however a world like this is extremely dangerous for a person like her.
I don't remember the exact date that everything got messed up, that I was left running from society with her.
However, there is one thing I can remember.
This is all her fault.
