~Emily~

I have my college finals coming up and right now, I am so stressed! I've been up every night studying, I've barely had much sleep the past few weeks and I just can't focus on anything I'm doing anymore. I glance over at my dog Daisy. I've already taken her out on a walk today but I just need to get out and clear my head. And go get some coffee.
"Daisy girl, you wanna... go for a walk?"
As soon as she heard the last four words her ears perked up, she got up and galloped towards her leash that was hanging next to the front door.
"I'll take that as a yes."

There is a Starbucks not too far from the park so I grabbed a cup of coffee and took it with me to the park. I started to feel a little bit better once I took in all of the scenery around me. It's quite late (well it's like 8pm) so there aren't any screaming children around- just soothing sounds of the browned Autumn leaves brushing against the ground, and the soft breeze gliding past my ears. I took a sip of my coffee and let out a big sigh. Everything about the park is tranquil and relaxing. All of a sudden a jogger runs right into me, making me spill my coffee all over myself. I peer down at my white tee to see that I now had a huge coffee stain across the whole front of it.
"Sh*t!"
A rather familiar voice responds
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry"
I look up to see a slender woman, probably around 5'8", with white blonde hair tied up into a ponytail but the ends of it rested at her hips. It takes me a few seconds to realise who it is.
"Lyndsey? Hi, it's Emily. We went to school together?"
Lyndsey's eyes widen once realising who I am.
"Oh wow, hi Emily! We haven't seen each other since elementary school."
"I know right? So crazy! We should catch up soon."
"Well I'm not doing anything right now if you wanna catch up now?"
"Okay sure!"
We found a bench to sit at and we started talking.

We had probably been chatting for a solid 30 minutes and honestly I'm starting to feel like I really connect with her. She has such an interesting life- it turns out she's in a band now and they've been working on their first album. She even played me a snippet of one of her songs and it was amazing! Lyndsey has such a beautiful voice and she's incredibly talented. I look into her eyes. They are minty green, yet almost silver in color, with golden flecks around the edge of her pupils. They were very trancing and pretty. As she's talking she also has a cute little nose twitch. I remember her doing that when we were kids. At the time I thought she looked silly but now it's super cute. I then pay attention to her lips. Her smile was always present within her conversations and her lips were a light rose color that was quite unusual but beautiful.

We swiftly moved onto the topic of relationships.
"So how's your love life Emily?"
"Well it's practically been non-existent for the past 18 years, with the exception of that one time when me and Timmy "got married" during recess in second grade."
"Oh my, I remember that! I remember me saying that I wanted to be Timmy's bridesmaid and then you had a go at me saying that I had to be your bridesmaid! Good times."
"Good times. So how's your dating life then?"
"Not good. I had a girlfriend cheat on me a few months back so I broke up with her and I've been single ever since."
So Lyndsey's gay, huh? I'm really starting to think that I love her.
"Sh*t, I'm sorry."
"It's okay- the relationship was never the best in the first place."
"I didn't know you were gay."
"I mean how would you have known? We've not seen each other since we were like ten years old and I only came out just under a year ago."
"I'm gay too, you know?"
We both look into each other's eyes. Lyndsey reaches her hand out to grip my jaw and she plants her lips against mine. Her lips are soft and take like strawberries. We both back away from the kiss and I have a huge grin going across my face.
"You know what Emily? Young Lyndsey would be so jealous of current me for kissing you. I'm pretty sure you were my first crush."
I smirk at her confession and peck her on the cheek.
"Well you could make young Lyndsey jealous more frequently? Let's say we go on another date- one where you don't spill coffee all over me."
"I'd love that. Also I'll buy you a new shirt."
