Endereye felt paws nudge his side. He moaned, lashing his tail. His mind felt blurry, and he knew that he was injured, but didn't know why or how.
"Wake up."
Endereye opened his eyes drowsily and saw Luna, his friend he'd met only a few days ago. "Am I Dead?"
Luna shook her head. "Miraculously, no. We think you're just lucky though. Snowstorm literally saved your life!"
Memories flooded back of his throat being slashed open but Ember, Luna's pack-mate. She'd dragged Endereye to his siblings. He could hardly talk now, much less eat or drink, and he felt impossibly weak.
"I'll be going to my Pack soon, but we can visit. Just not around my territory. And not in secrecy." Luna explained. Endereye simply nodded, getting up on all four paws. "I'll be right back." Luna said after awhile. He saw her go to talk to Blade, who was glaring at Endereye as he if he'd just killed someone. Why is he so mad at me? He wondering, deciding to see why.
"Hi Endereye." Blade growled.
Endereye lashed his tail. He knows I can't talk! He'll just keep treating like this knowing I can't defend myself. He wondered if he'd even get better, instead of just sitting around all day, watching his siblings play and enjoy themselves without him. At least Luna cares. He thought, giving her a grateful glance.
"You should try eating." Luna said, nudging Endereye away from Blade. "And writing in, like, the ground." She joked, jumping away and grabbing a small rabbit and bringing it back to him.
Endereye extended a claw, attempting to thank her. How does one spell 'thanks?' He thought scratching up the ground until he finally gave up.
"What even?" Luna laughed. "What is that?!" She pointed to the scribbles. "Tanks? Thonks? Do you mean thanks?"
Endereye nodded seriously.
Luna burst into laughter. "You're kidding right?"
What? Endereye shook his head.
Luna seemed to understand. "I guess you don't read or write then. Anyways, you should eat before you starve."
No way! My throat still feels like it's cut open. Well it is, but that's exactly why! Also, why aren't I even dead? He tore a piece of meat from the small rabbit, wincing as pain shot through his neck, but continued to swallow it. Success!
"Good job, lets go now, though. That took way to long." Luna admitted. She trotted away, Endereye following closely. Where are we going? I feel like a kit being spoiled! Luna turned to right, towards the lake. Water?! Is she crazy?! "I want to try something." She said as they reached the shore, dangerously close to the small, quiet waves. "Stick your paw in it."
No way! Endereye thought furiously, arching his back and spikes.
Luna let out a moan of annoyance. "Just do it or I'll drag you in by the scruff."
Argh fine! He stalked towards he cautiously. Don't push me in! As if she'd read his thoughts, she shoved Endereye into the water. He flailed his paws and tail as they began to burn. He let out a screech and jumped to the shore, hissing and he shook himself. Luna just looked amused, sitting with her tail over her paws. "Okay, let's go now."
What what that for? He thought as he followed her back to his siblings' camp.
