Once upon a time. There was a very beautiful princess. This princess's name was Rosemary. Princess Rosemary loved to sing and be happy; but one day she realized that she'd rather have someone to sing with.
The princess was sad because she knew none of her friends could sing as beautifully as she could. Princess Rosemary went outside to sit and sing by herself because nobody in the kingdom could sing the way she could. Looking out into the forest Princess Rosemary came up with a brilliant idea! She thought maybe because her friends and family couldn't sing as beautifully as she could maybe something out there might. So Princess Rosemary went to sleep to get ready to go out tomorrow.
The princess woke up to a beautiful sunshinny day! She was ready to go find something to sing with. On her way to the forest she passed by the old barn where the Pete cat lived. She stopped to ask Pete if he knew of anyone in the forest that could sing like she could. Pete being old, grumpy, and full of himself insisted that he could sing just as good as Rosemary. He began to sing with noise like nails on chalkboard. Rosemary had to put to an end to it. She quickly told him that he sang beautifully and walked into the forest as fast as she could.
When she neared the forest she saw a crow. She said to the crow "Mr. crow, would you sing me a song?". Mr. Crow let out a loud "CA CAAAA". The Princess knew this wasn't who she wanted to sing with her, he was far too loud and far too aggressive.
So Princess Rosemary wandered a little further into the forest when she stumbled upon Miss Deer. Rosemary said to Miss Deer, "might you sing me a song today Miss Deer?". Miss Deer let out a quiet "aruuhh". Miss Deer was far too quiet and too shy to sing with the beautiful Princess. The Princess said farewell to Miss Deer and told her she'd come visit again someday. Off she went back through the forest.
Soon Princess Rosemary thought she'd never find anyone who could sing as she could. She walked for hours looking and wondering who could amount. Then she stopped in her tracks when she heard the most beautiful voice she'd ever heard. She ran towards it and came upon a clearing. In the clearing she couldn't see anyone or anything nearby.
She called out to find whoever sang so beautifully. A small voice answered back. "It was me Miss Princess". She immediately looked down and her eyes met the smallest cricket she'd ever seen. She picked him up and said "surely that couldn't have been your beautiful voice, sing for me please". The tiny cricket sang to his hearts content and the Princess was absolutely astonished to see such a small creature with such a beautiful voice. The cricket said "my name is Jack, I've heard you've been all through the forest looking for someone to sing with you!".
The Princess admitted that Jack had a beautiful voice and that he had the voice she'd been trying to find all day. The Princess was so happy that she carried Jack back to the castle and they sang to everyone in the forest on their way home. The entire forest and the entire kingdom was filled with people who wanted to here the new duo sing to their hearts content. Rosemary and Jack became the best of friends and the best of singers and had the time of their lives doing it together.
