I stared at the parchment with wide eyes, my mouth opening and closing as I kept rereading the whole thing.

Natalia Rose Lynn
Mother: Maree Elisabeth Sawley
Father: Michael Lynn
Sibling/s: Trinity Maree Lynn

I always knew I was adopted ever since I was little and my mother told me. Later on, I understood everything better and that my parents loved me maybe a little too much. But back then, there wasn't a way for us to find my birth parents as they seemingly didn't exist.

At that very moment though, as I stared at that piece of parchment, everything made sense. It all just clicked. Why I didn't fit in, weird things happened to me and even the fact that maybe I was so interested in Harry Potter was my subconscious trying to connect to my home universe.

I used to live here, I was born here. I don't know what happened but I lived here for four years and my biological parents and sister live in this world. That was why I couldn't find my parents, all of my short life I searched high and low went through sleepless nights and the reason I couldn't find them was that they lived in a completely different universe. I was baffled.

Everything after that just seemed to move quickly and it was like I was underwater. The feeling was overwhelming and my heart was trying to break free from its restraints in my chest.

But before I knew it, it was over and through the door stepped a beautiful woman with forest green eyes and shoulder-length dark brown hair. I took one took at her and smiled as I just knew, she was my mother. She was followed by a 12-year-old girl whose hazel eyes sparkled like diamonds and dirty blonde hair curled at the ends.

The two of them stepped towards me and the woman softly spoke "Natalia?"

I just stared at her with suspiciously wet eyes and my lips curled upwards "Yeah, it's me. Mum?"

"I can't believe it," She whispered as she quickly strode towards me and wrapped her arms tightly around my torso. The feeling of my heart beating out of my chest that I spoke of earlier, well it's back times two. The dam broke right as I looked into my sister's eyes. I'd always wanted a sister.

I don't have a clue how long I sat there in my biological mother's arms. I felt so safe there and it was like nothing in the world could harm me. For a few moments I even forgot where I was, but reality had to catch up sooner or later.

"Hey, mum? Can I hug my baby sister now," her blunt comment cut through the sounds of quiet sobbing I was letting out? The arms that were wrapped around me let go and left me feeling empty only to be replaced with another set of arms being wrapped around me in a way only a sister could manage. Happiness and contentment bubbled under the surface of my skin.

I'm finally home

Yasss finally it is here! I hope you aren't too upset with me :) Life happens and sometimes my very easily distracted mind starts creating other stories before I even finished the other ones. I apologise. Next chapter you get to see Natalia settle into her new home with her biological family.
Thanks for reading!
