When you look at a person the first thing you do to describe them is usually gender.
This tall young man or this short older woman.
But what about the saying
Assuming makes an ass out of you and me
To some of us when you label our gender
It makes us want to scream
I don't want you to see me as a strong young man
But a female is something that I never will be
So I sit here in a grey area
and hope that you see
That assumptions are not helpful
When you look at me
