The kitchen was quiet, and the only sound that could be heard was Alice's small hands patting down rice flour into round shapes and her soft breathing. Matt watched intently, always taking in her presence.
It's been a while since the last monday they met... Maybe a few months. She stopped patting and wiped her hands off on a rag, making sure not to get anything on her new dress. The blonde girl softly giggled to herself and smiled up at him weakly, "I forgot to take off my ring! Now it's a little dirty... Silly me." He watched the ring slide off, leaving her hand bare. It was a nice sight, if only it would stay that way.
Before he knew it, he opened his mouth and his heart, "Alice. Run away with me. I'll take care of you and the baby. I know it's tough here, and he doesn't seem to realize the seriousness of this. So please..." He trailed off, realizing his words didnt seem to affect her in anyway. She continued baking, watching her own hands.
"Have you heard of the dango family?" Matt blinked, slowly nodding as a response. He took in the look of her soft pale skin and her waving blonde hair. She was just too beautiful...
"They are always happy. And together. They are the ideal family, and it's quite cute, don't you think?" She placed another round sweet on a tray, "They don't run off. They love one another. Family is a big deal, it describes the way people are built and formed for the future and just in general."
Matt sighed and looked down, nodding some more. She always rejected him like this. She began to hum, then softly sing to a song. The melody filled the quiet kitchen with an echo.
Deph stood there, outside the kitchen hiding behind the wall with his arms crossed, leaning the side of his head against the wall to listen. Alice slowly stopped, and there was a pause. She fiddled with the last dango and whispered happily, "I'm going to sing that to my child one day."
Matt struggled to blink back tears.
