Finding love is one big disastrous cliché.
You know what I mean right?
Every soppy book and film has the exact same plot.
Person A meets Person B.
They fall in love.
There's a crisis, or a break up or some heart-wrenchingly devastating reason why it won't work.
But PLOT TWIST!!
It works out and they live happily ever after...
But that's never real life. Whose with me on refunds on the soppy, easy routes to happiness and love and fulfilment that we're being sold?
Whilst I realise these sound much akin to the rants of a delusional, bitter woman (and whilst this may be partially true), surely we deserve better. We deserve films about strong woman thriving with, and without her man.
The guy not getting the girl and getting on with his life.
Strong female characters not pitted against each other but working together against the patriarchy.
So, as a SFC myself (no not a delicious chicken delight but STRONG FEMALE CHARACTER my babes), I, Ellen Mae Higgins' I proud to launch my guide to being a successful (messy), (trying to be) drama free, bad-ass woman.
Watch me flourish.
